So, muddy, as well as being an unpleasant mash of colour is also descriptive of the "condition" of the colours. Right? Good word!

Yes. I used to be confused that things were called ‘muddy’ when they hadn’t necessarily turned brown. It’s just about how the mix has lost its vibrate
