How to avoid ticks and bugs: Treating hiking clothes with permethrin
Just a quick how-to about treating your hiking clothes with permethrin. This has been the most effective way I've found to avoid ticks and other bugs. I use this to help prevent being infected by Lyme Disease and a whole host of other illness. Using Sawyer permethrin will work as well but it gets really expensive. I'd rather just mix my own.
Permethrin is really effective at keeping any insects or bugs away. I've sprayed clothes and my hammock with the stuff to start the season.
WARNING: When wet keep away from cats, fish and reptiles. Ok when dry.
