Hi, great video as per usual, especially when you go to Garmisch, when we stayed there last year we found a hidden gem that no one mentioned, even our guest house host never said any thing about it, we were staying at Ferienhaus Heimhof at the base of the Kreuzeckbahn Talstation, one day we noticed a sign for the Historische Olympia Bobbahn so we took a walk into the forest to find it, only to find it next to a lovely secluded lake ( Riessersee ) with a restaurant and apartments, absolutely stunning place, lovely meal and beer only a 20min walk from our holiday house . ps we were in Munich for the first week of the Christmas market and must just have missed Camille as we were in the same area that day. Keep up the good work.

That Rick Steve's line was hilarious lol. You're exactly right about it, though, because I have gotten more information from your videos than his big tourist trap locations. I notice immediately now when a vlogger has no idea about what they're talking about. They don't know the culture and hidden gems, and they just Google the 10 top locations of a city. There is so much garbage out there. Keep up the great work!

Unfortunately most travel YT is those videos. we are hoping people can break out of that style of video with these tips! Thanks for watching. Looking forward to meeting up this summer!

My extended family wants to do a christmas market trip in a couple of years, but I like castles and less hustle. Is it possible to go on these hikes to castle ruins in late November and Early December in Bavaria? Would the trails be hike-able for young children?

Yes! We actually shot this video last week. We have also done this same hike in February in 2 feet of snow. I think the key to doing these really low elevation hikes in the Alpine foothills is to be dressed correctly. This is the easiest hike in the mountains I can think of, plus castle ruins are a big children's activity in Bavaria. There are always so many families with small children. IMHB, these very low elevation hikes in the foothills of the alps are nice in the winter if you dress warmly. I have done hikes like this in the winter, in deep snow, and have been fine. We wear waterproof hiking boots, long johns under our hiking pants, a thermal shirt and a workout shirt, a hat, and gloves.

Very interesting content and seldom talked about tips. I use Rick Steves guides as a general overview to an area then have used some of your tips to customize a more off the beaten path plan. Your Bavarian videos were great to help us in Germany last August, thanks for all the great ideas.

Thanks mate! There’s nothing wrong with a classic Rick Steves guide, I’ve used them plenty myself, but the curse of popularity is that no tip in his archive is truly off the beaten path anymore, he has defined the very beaten path itself! :) In 100 years though? I’m sure they’ll be worth coming back to just like a good Karl Baedeker is today. They are quality content.

Excellent advice - all great tips! In the photos from your younger ping pong days, I couldn't help think how much Ben resembled a similarly youthful Mark Wolters from 'Wolters World' content! Great channel - thank you!

The business of walking through the coutryside from one country house to another is actually one of the key-points of the novel. It was as well very uncommen for nobility in England at the time. So on one hand it shows how poor Lizzy is, on the orher hand it sets her up as a natural unspoilt charactwr who is unconventional and has her own head.

By far my favourite scene from Pride and Prejudice! Love that we can still do this in much of Europe, even if it is low class. lol
