The Rocket manual says 'while the brew water is flowing, loosely insert the portafilter into the group head, rotating the portafilter back and forth' - does that mean without seating/sealing it? Or, kind of sealing/unsealing? That sounds messy...

can you show how you removed the basket from the portafilter? I'm having a heck of a time! it's sitting flush and can't get a spoon in there or think of anything thin enough to use!

The Seattle Coffee Gear stores and website sell a tool called Pallo Caffeine Wrench. It's a multi purpose tool that has many different tips and edges for all sorts of jobs, including removing porta filter baskets.

Replying 4 years late! The rocket manual mentions using the lip of the blind basket itself (or one of the other baskets). Turn it upside down and it slips in easily and pops it out. I had the same issue in mind when unboxing until I read the manual.

i own a rocket appartamento and completely dissatisfied with my machine a hose is nonreactive and spewing water into the interior of the machine and in turn is leaking everywhere i do not recommend this machine to anyone. I am in the process o refunding my $1,550 and buying a much better machine.
