Nice Video. One issue - you should start out with a WARNING: Not all DVD/BluRay/4K players will play computer burned disks. I strongly suggest everyone take a blank CD disk, burn a .mp3 file to it, put it into your player and see if it throws an error. If it cannot read a CD-ROM with a .mp3 file burned from a computer - it wont play the computer burned BluRay disks.

Same here. DVDFab is the swiss army knife of video tools. I use Burn Aware, Imgburn or even my old standby CDBurnerXP to burn ISOs and BDMV files to discs and like, TechnoDad, I exclusively use Verbatim blank 25 and 50gb discs. I get few if any coasters with the brand.

I've found that if you use an m.2 SSD on an external PCI 3.0 or even faster 4.0 to do the ripping, with at least 32gb of RAM, the process is much faster! Then transfer to your flavor of RAID for backup 🤓👍 I think having the Zappiti media player makes for a smoother playback to home theater. The Zappiti might be my next option. I've tried to play my movies directly to the LGC1 and get too many buffering issues because of the 10/100 Ethernet. The Oppo203 is hit or miss on playback and not as friendly to the eyes

Verbatim makes BD-50 and BD-100 discs that are ReWritable - so you can test out your burn ahead of time and not make coasters out of those expensive BD-50 and BD-100 disks

This won’t work with any uhd 4k movies, they are all protected and require a blu-ray drive with a non standard firmware. No drive manufactured after 2018 will work.

Hi Sebastian! Great question! As of right now, BD-XL blanks go upto 100GB. I've heard of some 125GB blanks but I can't find them. So a 160GB blank is going to be hard to find.

Due Layer Bluray Discs also cost a "Pretty Penny" as well as an external Bluray burner plus DVDFAB Bluray Copy and UHD copy, they cost 125 each not both for the life time version, the 44.99 is only for one month and it's 69.99 for a year. It's Not for the average consumer on a budget.

Hi! It depends on the blu ray drive. For computers, I do not think there's a designation for standard or 4K blu ray. I think as long as the drive can burn to a blank BD-XL disc, it will burn a 4K disc. Does that make sense?

Hey TD, I found out something interesting when trying to RIP/Backup 4K Disks. If my disk has the following copy protection the 4K drive fails to read the disk. I had this on "No Time to Die, Suicide Squad, the last Start Wars and Avengers movies. All disks failed to read or come back with scsi error trying to read the disk. Protection: AACS2.0/C v76 Data capacity: 90.86 Gb Disc type: BD-ROM UHD Number of layers: 3 PM

I apologize for my inexperience. I want to back up my films in iso. I used DVDfab (Windows 10) and I got the iso. Now I want to get the blu ray. Do I have to use another program or is the function contained in DVDfab? Second question... I am using rocky as a test blu ray. DVD fab gives me iso 50gb automatically but iso I get is less than 25gb. Could I use 25GB BluRay or I have to use the 50gb ones? THX

That’s different. You would need the ISO file to burn onto the Blu Ray disc for it to work in a blu ray player.

You essentially want an Audio CD but with 50 000/640 MB = 78 times the normal 74 minutes = a 5 781 minute disc? First off, no audio cd player will recognize bluray or even dvd, so that won't work, and while CD-R can be used to burn Audio CD, I don't think I've ever heard of Audio DVD or Audio Bluray. The closest you can get is to rip all those CDs in whatever quality you like (320 kbps is Audio CD quality) into mp3, then burn all those mp3s onto a disc to play on whatever device can read that type of disc. My guess is there is no other solution than to make it a Data disc filled with mp3s. There is ISO but that's a strange way around it. If you want to play it in a car stereo, a simple USB thumb drive is a much easier and cheaper option.

If anyone is reading this, I got the answer. The issue is that most players don't read/play self-burned BDXL discs. I used BD-R DL 50 GB discs, and all of my players can play them. As far as I found, Panasonic UB9000 is the only one that can play BDXL 100 GB discs correctly

@@TechnoDad Yeah, DVDFab lets you burn a cloned or copied disc directly to a blank disc rather than saving them to ISOs or BDMV folders. It can do the same with the Create function (for example converting an MKV or MP4 video file into an autoplay disc). As far as I know it can't just burn to disc files that weren't created by its own components. I still prefer to create ISOs or BMDV folders and then use an external program (Burn Aware, Imgburn or CDburner XP) to actually burn the discs. Sometimes an ISO or m2ts needs to be tested first before burning.
