Thank you so much! I've been wondering how to do this for the longest time, saw backups mentioned in the PO manual but never figured it out. In case anyone was wondering, backed up my PO-33 onto my Tascam DR-05 using a normal 3.5mm (stereo obviously) aux cable into the line in. I then whacked the recorded backup onto my laptop and played it through the same 3.5mm cable via audacity!

For your PO-33 and Zoom H1, I can recommend volume 12 on the PO, and lo cut off, auto level off, WAV 48kHz/16bit and input level 17 on the H1. Hope that helps. #H1represent

Dig your videos and recommend them to people (in person). You already know this, but naming the ableton tracks prior to recording names the tracks. You can probably name all the tracks (audio files) after the recording. Whoever figures out how that’s done wins a prize. I like to name things afterwards.. as I don’t know what it wants to be named until I hear it half the time. Bonus points for ableton sample chop exported to another folder without having to dork around with the workaround. Glad to hear you quit your square job to do this. Dig. Oh ps., if you’re a programmer you have to, some day, make an interesting music gadget. In the meantime.. keep up the solid efforts. Best, g

As an aside, I recently read a couple comments here www.operator-1.com/index.php?p=/discussion/4163/po-33-ko-owners-questions-observations/ that suggest you're better off wiping factory sounds before backing up if your sample memory is full or close to it, otherwise the PO will attempt to restore the factory sounds too instead of just skipping over them and using the self-generated ones, giving you an error and basically rendering your backup obsolete unless you break off the lock tab or something.

Mine errors on the restore halfway through. Levels look good on the record, didn't use an adaptor to the Focusrite, only issue I can think of is i used 48kb vs 44.1. After the error'd restore (@ 73% on the PO, but probably 50% of the timeline audio file) and i play around with the PO some of it is there but understandably lots isn't. To do the backup I used a stereo 1/8" -> 2x mono 1/4" to the 2i2. Levels looked good at about -8. 48000 / buffer 256 samples. Any additional tips on what might have messed this up? Thx for your thorough tutorial :)

Hey-o Ricky, thanks so much for all your tutorials and videos! I seem to have an issue with restoring a backup with my K.O. @dandanbachar4 жыл бұрын
Newbie here too. I just got my PO and have been trying to connect it to my Macbook Pro, to use in Garageband. A part my newly acquired knowledge is the fact that there are (at least) two types of aux cables; one with two rings on it, and one with three. Apparently, headphones that have a built-in microphone have a 3-ring AUX whereas normal headphones have only two, so based on that fact one could assume that (at least) one 3-ring AUX cable is needed. However I just received my cable and my Macbook still doesn't recognize the PO as a possible input source, so I guess a receiver is needed for that

@dnldr43864 жыл бұрын
Yes, but the challenge with not using an external sound card is that audio sometimes sucks on computers. Also many laptops now have mono mic and stereo headphones input. That said you can use a stereo lead direct to a stereo input. We use Audacity with Beringer 18 input interface. That way we have dedicated out and in for our stereo mini jack devices.

Quick question.. I’m using a Teenage Engineering stereo cable 3.5mm from the output of KO! to a 1/4in adapter then plugging that into the input on my audio interface.. it’s insanely quiet though. I have it set to line instead of instrument but still crazy quiet.. think it’s bc of the adapter or should I just get a stereo cable with an XLR on one end and go into the mic input instead? It’s a M-Audio interface so not great but never had anything be this quiet before..
