You can change level of each individual drum sound on the Tonic! When you make a patch in MIcrotonic you are actually making 2 patches that you later morph between with pot B on the Tonic. So you just copy one patch and then turn the volume way down for the B state. Now you have the same patch to morph between, but one with the volume turned way down. That makes the morph pot function as a volume pot.

I love messing with Microtonic, it really takes the Tonic to another level. You actually design your own drum sounds, and then there is something about the Pocket Operator quality that make those drums sound crunchier, punchier and more lo-fi. Also since you can assign the shape knob to any parameter of the drum sound, you can actually make it a volume knob if you want to be able to adjust the individual levels. Anyway chill vid as always, I got my PO-32 because of you man, you're an inspiration

All these channels on KZbin can post all the videos on all kinds of gear but I’ve done the math over many years. Nothing out there surpasses the Akai MPC 1000 (or older MPCs) for groove, sample based workflow and good sound with great low end or the MPC one, live or X for features if you’re not too fussed about the sound. You will always return to these machines after blowing a whole load of cash chasing the dream. If you want to get locked into the groove and be creative and actually make music and enjoy the process. It’s Akai MPC all the way!

Regarding to the bag. Having experience with similar camera bags that also can transform to be a backpack. The quick straps should be fixed or the connectors you attach to the o-rings should have have a lock mechanism. Quickstrap connectors without a lock are very risky as they easily come off by accident and then your bag can fall from your back to the concrete floor.

Not sponsored either, but I love Analog Cases (and UDG as well). Not having enough room to have gear out all the time, almost all of my stuff is in a case. I automatically hit up Analog or UDG when I buy a piece of gear. Analog cases tend to be roomier and can hold power adapters / extra cables which is great. Total coincidence I've actually got 2 cases coming my way from them as we speak for some new Make Noise gear I splurged on on Black Friday :). The PO jam is tight as well!
@jonpatchmodular3 жыл бұрын
Hey I have two UDG volca cases, they are really neat to keep those plastic rectangles safe when they inevitably leave the house for some natural jamming! Although for some reason the two are a bit different inside, one has you lodge the Volca into a perfect fit foam, the other one has a more passive approach with a harder material. Still, the quality is great. A bit tight if you want to carry the Volca Modular with patch cables in, but it can work. It's just the cables will have angled connectors afterwards :)

yeah pocket operators for the win! about the Tonic: its crazy that if you have the VST that it originated from you can design your own drumsounds and upload them to them. And that VST I believe its called Microtonic now also has new algoritms emualting the sounds of the classic drummachines(707,909,LinnDrums etc.) and those are no samples. Really crazy you should check it out! Which audiokit are you using on your tonic? PS: I saw you had a chat with Sammy (Brawther) a while ago, what a coicidance, he's a very good friend of mine and as we speak I've loan him my eurorack case, so let's see what he boils up ;) Peace
