Those poor vegans. I saw another episode where a vegan bakery was really having trouble making complex pastries. Baking stuff without eggs, butter and dairy is like doing a marathon with your arms tied behind your back while your leg is shackled to a ball-and-chain. Really difficult stuff. Though I gotta commend their creativity and tenacity. This is why I stick to vegan Indian food. Indians have had 3,000 years to perfect vegan recipes, and it shows with their extremely delicious vegan food. You can't go wrong with that historical pedigree.

vegan Indian food? that doesn't even make sense. Almost every Indian dish contains dairy to some degree.

I think, that the chosen item, was designed to eliminate the vegan bakery. They could have chosen so many other choices. Nice going judges!

To be fair, a bakery that can only make cupcakes isn't really representative of Britain's Best Bakery so they were bound to eliminated eventually anyway. Scotch eggs, sausage rolls, meat pies, shortbread, cheesecake etc were all things that could take them down soon enough. Whatever that fake butter concoction was looked nasty.

It's more icing than you think because the cupcakes seem really flat on top. Too much icing is suspicious. Sometimes, they do that to hide the flavor or dryness of the cake.

The hosts( very young) ,though this show ran from 2012-14, keep being introduced with their various accolades that the British like to dole out to themselves. A country the size of the state of Alabama (U.K. slightly smaller) it seems important to keep propping yourselves up LOL. THE BEST BAKER, BEEN MAKING CAKES FOR YEARS(she's maybe 32 in this video) WOW, real full of yourselves over there. 🤣
