It’s depends upon your dishes. In convection hot air blow from one side only if you switch off the turntable then food may not be cooked properly. Think you got it.

Never use convection mode for cakes. It makes the cake dense and cracks. You should use it in roti mode. Convection mode is to crisp food. Cakes should bake light and fluffy and have some moisture to it. Look at the spots on the cake and the inside of the cake. It's crisp on the top and dense on the inside. Please use on roti mode and show us.
