@Ghostbloodman0275 жыл бұрын
why arlond was doing this exercise wide and was lowering the bar to the clavicle and up?I tried once with wide elbows and next day my shoulders were sore and not my chest,i tried your technique and worked but why arlond was doing it differently? kzbin.info/www/bejne/eqbXgGWtetmkl9k -- even his butt is not on the pad ,but i tried his technique on flat flys and were great i felt the pump in my chest.

This video really helps. I have never been able to go low due to flaring my elbows out since I thought that is what you're supposed to do. Appreciate this video since it looks like it's more of a military press type grip or a close grip flat bench press type tuck in your elbows exercise.

Really good tutorial!! This is the proper way of benching. Far too many times I see people laying with there back flat on the bench just destroying there shoulders. It's personal preference with how much incline angle you have. I go from between 15 degrees up to 45.

I used to flat bench press in my 20's and got bruises on my shoulder blades doing 200 lbs. Now I am old (56 yrs) and incline bench 130 lbs without getting bruised. I noticed that it's easier climbing the stairs at work now because I think the heavy weights are giving my body some additional endurance.

I am 56 years old and do this with 130 lbs for a few sets of 12 or so reps . I find as I age, my hands don't tolerate the pressure from the bar so well, so I bought some pipe insulation and wrapped it around the handle. I wrap my hand around the insulation instead of the pipe.

@Cocox2 If you notice the direction of the press, flat bench you are pressing directly over the nipples, incline it is much higher, even if his body looks more flat, the press is still higher thus hitting the upper chest. Hope that makes sense/helps.

I use a real wide grip and incline press at 30 degrees. I wind up about 2-3 inches above my chest and when I flat bench press, the bar wind up about an inch above my chest.
