That’s basically what I did, just developed my own combos and memorized them, also helps that the character I’m doing this with is Jin who I’ve played since T5, so legacy skill is also a factor.

This is honestly one of the better Tekken tutorials! People often think combos are the only important thing, but stuff like spacing is just as, if not more important

How to Tekken: do your own thing, have fun. That's the message of this guide and that's why it's great. Most other "how to" videos go on a rocket science explanation of the fighting system. Not everybody is hardcore in fighting games, and a lot of people see figthing games as just another genre to have fun with, not as a lifestyle or a science project. That's what a lot of people in the fighting game scene fail to understand. Great video.

This kind of video is in short supply and very needed so thank you. Most noob guides on YT go far too in-depth from the jump, because people who make them play the game for 30 years and just aren't able to see it from the newbie perspective anymore. So if you're totally new to fighting games you end up reverse engineering them in a sense, to bring them to a more basic level XD

very good video! reminds me of a similar one @I AM OP made a while ago, where he demonstrated simple comboing, also just a few minutes long. you cant expect to introduce a new player to a game and throw a 1 1/2 hour video at him where he doesnt understand 80% of and cant pull of 90% of the combos shown. ofc they get frustrated. this. this is good stuff for new players.

I actually wanted to get into Tekken 7 (PS4) a few years ago, I played for months, but holy **** that community is garbage so I dropped it. Nobody fought me seriously because I was new. Most of my games, players would try to mirror match me and the game would get boring very quickly. There was also a high chance I would get kicked from lobbies because I was new. Literally the remaining players of that dead console community is solely there to make sure the game stays dead, making sure new players get next to no fighting experience so they stay bad. I don't think I'll play another Tekken game on console ever again lol

There are lobbies? On PC everyone just plays unranked or ranked matchmaking.

@@JustMe4414 Matchmaking on console was completely dead (ranked and unranked), so I could never increase my rank, I remember I waited up to 30mins for one ranked fight, nothing. Most of the playerbase was just hosting those king of the hill lobbies (if you win, you keep fighting. If you lose, get kicked to the back of the line)
