How to Baste a Quilt Using Spray Adhesive - A Beginner Quilting Tutorial

One of the essential steps to do in learning to quilt is learning how to baste a quilt. I personally prefer a method of quilt basting known as "spray basting" but you should know there are other methods involved in making the quilt sandwich that can work for you too! I've finally finished the topper for a quilt that I've been working on for over a year and am going to be basting it together tomorrow. I normally don’t have much overspray but when I do, just normal swiffer mopping does the trick!

Great video! Do you ever have issues with overspray on your floors? That's kind of what is stopping me from trying spray adhesive on a big project. I have used it on smaller projects but I make sure I am doing it on cardboard. Am I being crazy? LOL!

It washes away! And I use it on my baby quilts 😊

Do you have any suggestions for older quilters who cannot crawl on the floor and get up from the floor?

I’ve heard people do it vertically by using wall space! Or large tables if you have access to any large meeting spaces or even a public library

Thank you for your reply. You’re very lucky you can crawl around on the floor. If I were able to get on the floor I would need to use my medical alert to get help to get up from the floor. A video to help all of us would be nice, not just for young people. I’m just jealous. I wish I was young again.
