I should say, I never competed, I took part in sparring, and continue to do so now I'm in the TKD, but I know I am far too competitive to actually compete. It's a failing, I know.

Sound, practical advice. I think last point is unappreciated at times. Relax and have fun because that will improve your ability to learn from the experience.

Hello sir. I have a question. How can someone train karate alone ? As in terms of kata. I am a Black Belt First Dan. I came to a different province due to the beginning of my University however I cant seem to find a dojo here. Any tips ?

What about kata competition
@jkgardinerАй бұрын
@AnasElmouden-d1p this applies to both kata and kumite. - Understand the rules - Make sure you have the right equipment (karate gi with the right dimensions, correct colour belts) - Training (technique and physical) -Watch videos of the competition to understand the format

Hey man I know you train Matt and his videos are quite cleverly mainstream to grab the eye but after finding you, you are incredibly useful. I started karate 9 months ago or so and I'm currently 34, on red belt. Can I ask, did you get your physique just doing karate? If not, I'd love to hear your workout - I've also started training and am disciplined enough to stick it through, it's been over 3 weeks and I'm not quitting!

Sir as a competitive player how much day in a week should i weight train so it doesn't hinder my performance in martial art?
@harshalthebossАй бұрын
Sir I think that's the good approach to focus on quads on one leg day and hamstring on another as a martial artist so that we can perform in martial arts after leg day as well.. What are your thoughts on this sir?
@noribelarbi8173Ай бұрын
First one❤😂

Sir if we perform two leg days one is quad focused and other is hamstring focused so we will do squat for strength in 1-5 rep range once a week is it enough to build strength with just do squat once a week?
@voutespancarАй бұрын
Sensei. I think WKF Kumite is not good for your body type. Since you are so muscular you gonna KO everyone with Gyaku Tsuki and get disqualified. 😂 More traditional federations may be better since you can Ippon everyone to the trophy.

Yes I don’t compete anymore, I prefer a more continuous type of sparring instead of the point scoring style.
