@Dracorlock7 жыл бұрын
Aarmau Crew normally the quality of the computer microphones are decent. the microphone he's using captures his voice with better quality and will more likely peak the interest of the people asking people to audition.

Nightwolf_15 I haven't tested one so I'm not entirely sure but I've done some research because I'm planning on getting one. As far as I've seen is the audio technica at2020 would be my choice. But I've haven't researched more on mics for about a year so my info might be outdated. If your going budget wise. I would go with a blue yeti or the blue snowball.

I want to be a voice actor. Deep, British voice...probably good for bad guys, old dudes or the more dower serious types or narration. How much editing may be involved, or is polishing and refining something typically done by others towards the end of the process? (obviously don't send them coughing or sneezes) I was worried i'd have to lease a sound studio etc.... so that's a relief.

Correction about the pop filter: You don't really need one if you're just starting out because, unless you have a ribbon mic with a fragile interior, all you really need to do is tilt the mic off axis from the puffs of air creating the popping sounds so they don't hit the grill of the mic. You're p's _can_ also pop if you use a pop filter if you emote/yell loud enough. You don't need to drop 15 dollars on a piece of nylon.

If only I had a closet! I assessed very well for voice over and was told I have a niche for it, but the next step is recording a demo and that's where I'm stuck because I can't afford what nyc places are charging and don't know what I should be doing instead. And I know I shouldn't have to spend too much on a demo via a voice actor friend, so I've halted my pursuit. From what I can tell, having a home studio puts voice actors at an advantage so now I'm intimidated because I don't have that.
@mrcheezypop9 жыл бұрын
+HonestlyKaren Well anyone can have a home studio! If you have questions about how to make that work in your home, let me know! As for the demo, that's something I could potentially help with as well, and not at NYC demo prices.
@feitocomfruta9 жыл бұрын
+mrcheezypop +HonestlyKaren The best advice I can give on acoustic modification is a trifold project board with mattress topper egg crate foam for a sturdy "booth" and black-out curtains. What you are trying to do is reduce the amount of hard surfaces around the recording area. It's something you can easily do with stuff from Target or Wal Mart.
@theboringkaren9 жыл бұрын
mrcheezypop I definitely have questions about how to make it work in a tiny room! (yay nyc). And I would love any help/tips regarding a demo!
