Just be attentive and really really be in the moment. The point is not to have the customer (guest) loving you and feeling all warm and fuzzy inside. The point is to complete the transaction in a timely manner and to make the customer feel that their service was appreciated. You're not going to dinner with these people and become longtime friends (though it just may happen). You just want them to want to come back because the SERVICE they received the last time was QUICK, CONCISE AND APPRECIATED.

I like the fact that you put the change in the customer's hand before you gave her the cash. When I give back change I give change first too. The reason I do it that way is the customer can put their change away while I count their cash back to them. I have found that when a cashier gives me the change on top of the cash, I end up dropping the change.

Im pretty sure humans are just humans and we all have brain farts. But I know that in my role, im supposed to be more correct... especially when I see totals in differences in front of me anyways. But I think the point is for ppl to humble themselves bc its like not even that serious. But id say i have such a good read on ppl, I can tell who is usually gonna be the pointless dbag (gender fluid) b4 he/ she even finishes a sentence. The fact that where I work at, ppl can see an entire process of 3 steps, seeing absolutely everything about their items every. Time. .. , but still manage to blame me for things by simply switching up is so damn annoying to me. I even repeat things back & somehow even thats an below thee thing. Like motherfucka, I only do that sh to attempt to stop switch ups in advance but sure enough... Theyll even lose their receipts or leave items behind & still manage to blame things on me. Wtf do I hafta gain by keeping ppls sh for? Dont they need an order #?! Yeah, im completely this spiteful on ppl I know nothing about. But dont start moving me around... bc ill start calling ppl out. Remember me? Yeah, the person that took u order? Yeah... hiiiiii 🤗. Oh blahzaye blahzaye screwed u outta something? Bc I would've rung that up. Oh, silly me & my in bill. different places at once self... ? My mistake? As usual, sigh. But let me see the receipt tho. Ohhhh, so what you're saying is you need me to charge you back over there?... 😒/🤣 ?!!!Bc You're Actually Indeed Bullshitting?!!! these fn freeloaders, mayne. Its not discriminating in the classes, age, gender, race, nothing like that. But no, im prob Not your bubbly customer service person. I dont think they're always right and idc to always make them happy. Nor do I even take it that seriously. I can effectively do my job... I just, I can't w/ ppl. Im tired of establishments just giving out sh. And im tired of the public trying to treat ppl like trash. Idc if I am a cashier. Ill still treat ppl how they treat me and thats my rule for every damn thing. Doesnt help that I work w/ retarded co workers... blind to who the "enemies" are. Bc escalation & fueling is everything 👍. I can take myself out of an equation & f up everything real damn quick if I wanted to... Also, also I just recently saw a post about how she gave some excsact change at my job (not about me) but how is someone not gonna give the exact change back and how did someone not remember her order? 1) my memory is only excellent in a fast pace setting when I do things immediately afterwards. 2) there's a ish load of ppl and things to get through. 3) bc God forbid ppl forget your precious face in a sea full of shit 😁. 4) i had to read that so many times... Holy f y do I really give ppl that many chances?... 5) is her articulation that off? 6) exact change sh. Like do she even English? 7) I dont want to be that petty person but im pretty sure exact is a common enough word for ppl Not to misspell. 8) she can't really be this off, right? It has to be a troll. 9) well fn a. This isn't even every other social media thing. She actually exists. 10) these dumb broads on his profile. And im just gonna unfriend her sh too. Simply just for being that stupid. There, there's your "exact change." And I do believe those behaviors in general exists off line as well

The comments just make me realize that you can't please everyone and that is completely okay! Some people, like myself, feel safe and welcome with the "good" example, others feel annoyed that he's talking too much or uncomfortable that he comes across as flirty. It's all about context and where the customers are coming from. I'm southern so being called hun, darlin', etc. is normal and a lot of older people use terms of endearment towards strangers cause it sounds more polite. But I noticed northerners find it weird and overly friendly. The reactions are going to be interesting and I am excited and nervous about those differences when I start working in fast food but I gotta remember that I can be myself even if the reactions are negative I just have to know when to adjust the energy I give off for the sake of myself (an introvert) and my customers.

Customer: No. -Pays.- 10 minutes later after walking away and leaving their slice behind at the counter. Customer: Is my pizza ready yet? Me: Yes it's been right here for you. Customer: I wanted a whole pizza. Me: ... (YOU KNOW YOU PAID LESS THAN 3 DOLLARS, YOU AIN'T GETTIN' NO 16INCH PIZZA.) ------------ Customer: - Walks up talking on their phone, taking forever to place their order, answer order-specific questions, holds up the line.- ----------- Customer GROUP: -approaches the register after being in a line with 30+ people, THEN LOOKS AT THE MENU THAT'S BEEN ABOVE THEIR HEADS THE WHOLE TIME THEY'VE BEEN IN LINE.- ----------- Customer: - Places big order fluently. Takes forever to get their money out which should have been ready already.- ----------- Customer 1: No, I'll pay! Customer 2: No, let me! Customer 1&2: -FIGHTING TO PAY.- Me: ... I have a big line and I'll get in trouble if it doesn't go down fast. This isn't cute. ----------- Customer: - Inappropriate joke here.- ----------- Customer: I've been waiting for over 40 minutes for my pizza! - Sarcastic applause for all the people who get their food immediately!- Says the customer who doesn't realize there's an enormous line AND I'M THE ONLY PERSON IN THE ENTIRE CAFE AREA BECAUSE EVERYONE ELSE WALKED OFF FOR NO REASON. ---------- Huge line, managers expect FAST*FAST*service but can't be bothered to lift a finger to help Customer: You didn't change your gloves(Even know I saw you intentionally stand to the side so that I could see you intentionally avoided touching the food in the slightest.) Me: ...- WALKS ALL THE WAY TO THE BACK OF THE KITCHEN TO WASH HANDS, DRY HANDS, CHANGE GLOVES, THEN COME BACK.- Customer 2: This line is taking too long! Me: -STOPS CHANGING GLOVES.- -------- Customer 1: The tables in the lobby are dirty, ____ is out of syrup, there's no straws/lids/napkins---- Me: - Goes to fix as many of those as possible- Customer 2: HELLO? CAN I GET SOME SERVICE? Video needed: How to be a less sucky customer. There's a reason some people end up the opposite of how they want to be,, and it's because of shitty customers who don't listen to their own order or have any sympathy for a short-handed crew.

I work in a pastry shop and I think I can be proud that people love me so much, I'm not that type of people, who is gonna give to people something old or bad looking, besides that my work is to sell in the FIFO rule. Psh, better from my pocket, than see sad people and losing them. Also I already made some people feel special, coz i know what they want, which makes me happy. The secret is simple - make this guy feel special however you can, don't be annoyed coz they want something or annoying with too much talk. Just make them feel special. That's it. Also, if u force yourself to work this, i mean you don't like it and everyday you come feels like going in hell, maybe you need to change the job. Trust me. Hope I was helpful for someone.
