I love how you break down videos in such great details. I've been searching KZbin for the last 2 weeks for my 16 yr old son and your videos like this with breakdowns are perfect.

does closing space basically mean creating contact and pushing the defender away?
@johnd81972 жыл бұрын
Yes you just have to be uncomfortable with the contact

So your not pushing away but your guiding the defender to where YOU want to go, strength doesn’t matter because basketball isn’t about pushing each other to the ground. I see it more like dancing, keep striving to beat the best version of YOUrself and don’t get give up!

Hey coach, thanks for the great videos, this one was a small revelation. I have a question: You've talked a lot about .5 decisions and I've heard the same from many other sources - the mantra to take faster decisions. However when I watch today's great high IQ playmakers (e.g. Chris Paul, Nikola Jokic, Luka Doncic) they actually seem to take quite a lot of time in their actions and decisions when they have the ball, be it through sizing up the defender (Doncic), pick'n'roll (Paul, Doncic) or posting up (Jokic) before making their move. It seems to me they look to be in a position of control while observing the court and player movement, then force the defense to make a decision and then react accordingly to make the best play available. How does this go together with .5 decisions? Is it a question of the offensive system or player type? Or are there guidelines about when to take it slow and when to play fast? Would appreciate some enlightenment.

do u need strength in order to control space

I guess the strength can help when driving to the basket or when you have a aggressive defender guarding you
