Important Notes/Correction(s): 1. Wes doesn't take more freezing or overheating damage. The way Wes's element vulnerability works is that it deducts from his insulation value meaning things like clothing or umbrellas provide less protection. 2. If you're overheating on a boat, you can cool yourself off by failing to paddle since this causes your character to gain a bunch of wetness. So don't be like me and just eat the damage.

I actually hope he has a normal skill tree, but the gimmick is that the tree actually nerfs him further and its a pick your poison type of situation. Or you can just reset your insight and not spend it if your a WUSSIE. Itd also be hilarious and actually kinda cool for the shadow and moon part of the trees just cosmetically change the way your baloon looks as a flex to everyone that you play maxed skill tree wes, not only spending a big amount of hours on wes, but also using all the debuffing skill tree effects aswell as beating one of the two bosses with the guy.

I *REALLY* hope that when wes gets his skill tree, it allows him to have more utility (like balloon minions or balloon tools that are better then gold tools but break easier etc) but make him harder as a result. after all, he *IS* a challenge character :)

I recently started fighting DF without walls because basically every run has larva jumping through walls anyways. Tips for anyone wanting to try: A fresh panflute is your best friend. If you're a character that can't deal with multiple larva very well, you can put DF to sleep and run while larva die, or try picking them off. Alternatively, if you're using a mag and cane, you can run for a few seconds, turn around and smack DF once with the cane which will cause DF to do a rearing animation, then dodge the swipe and continue running. If done correctly, you can kite DF around the arena without taking damage, and without larva catching up. The goal is to let the larva die naturally. If you have access to ice staves, 1 or 2 can be incredibly helpful as well. Just remember that putting DF to sleep changes the arena center. I had DF despawn a few times because I put her to sleep at one side of her larva ponds, then ended up running too far while trying to kite here, even though I was near lava ponds.

Personally i consider lower max sanity as an advantage, since it makes it so you can easier manipulate it - it takes 5 green cups to max wes sanity from 0 to 75, while it would take 17 to max wickerbottom 250

I feel like void robe might have been better in the toad fight than the mag. Less sanity drain, and an extra layer of protection. Also, i know unequipping the cowl will reset the damage buff. But could you switch reapers without resetting the buff? If so, then you would have 2 options. Voidcowl as a bodyslot, or bonearmor. Then you'd still be able to animation cancel and either deal with less sanity drain, or tank boomshrooms at the start. You'd also be able to have used bonearmor against DF is reaper switching doesn't reset dmg
