How to Be Assertive at Work Without Being Aggressive // Do you want to know how to be assertive not aggressive when you communicate? Believe it or not, some people will still find a way to argue with you and ramp up the emotions even if you meet them with facts. No matter how politely you state them. It's important to remember that even if you do everything right on your end, it can still go terribly wrong.

This is what is true or this is what I believe, and Wtf are you going to do about it? Look them dead in the eye. Only defend yourself if need be but even the example is defending your position.

You can avoid unpleasant situation in some degree by assertive approach, but sometimes is better to give idiots the only language that they can understand truly. Also everything you've said is true, but depends on environment! For example everybody today in higher intellectual corporations know what is behind assertive complaining or remark. That shit doesn't pass easily, and it is easily interpreted as artificial communication. Nobody is stupid enough not to read hidden agenda. In that cases it is just waste of time, or sometimes it can be even contra productive, but is very good for bosses to maintain distance and not to involve in unpleasant situations, like giving someone knowledge in polite way that they are going to lose job or to give someone hard time for getting late to a meeting like you said etc. It is also the great part of passive aggressions behaviors. So fuck assertiveness, be a good and honest person at first place, and speak like it is ! But yeah, honesty, honor, truth etc., words that don't mean shit in todays society...(that is more difficult than to practice way of communication) instead lets act assertiveness

I just found your channel today and really like what you do, I wish I had known you when I started as a leader a couple of yrs ago. I have a question for you and I put it here under the most recent video. I used to lead different teams for years but went back to the expert track a year ago. This was not a decision against leadership but for the topics I was able to work with. However, I feel as if my people & leadership skills are falling asleep because I use them less. Furthermore, I am starting to resent my management and team leader for not being good managers and leaders. With my own knowledge and experience it is more and more difficult not to be frustrated with the situation. Do you have any advise to handle this without stepping over the line? Thank you!

We in a day when being assertive is offensive. Half the nation working at home and the rest getting a government check. Those that are left are burnt out or lazy because jobs just want a body. I'll keep trying to be assertive but aggressive might be needed sometimes.

maybe you have aggression issues already? every person on this planet can benefit from learning to regulate their own emotions. the government is forcing people to work 40+ hr weeks to only pay bills, so yes people are burnt out when their wages aren’t increasing, but costs are. think about others and their perspective first, don’t resort to aggression. work on yourself for the good of everyone, including you.
