TIP: Watch what you say about yourself TO yourself-- Instead of saying “ I suck at math”, you can say “I’m working on getting better in math” . Or instead of saying “ugh I have anger issues”, you can try saying “ I’m getting better at managing my temper”... You’re not lying, you’re just speaking towards your goals. That's how I took it, but honestly ... I kinda liked it that way?? I'd rather have someone close to me bluntly tell me I'm a five (with kindness and good intent of course) so that I could be aware of what I actually have and learn to make the most of it, rather than always feel dysmorphic and confused, pretending I'm an eight or nine when I'm actually not and no one has the guts to tell me. There's a beauty in accepting yourself as you are and making the most of what you do have. And in the end, the confidence fills in the gap of those missing higher numbers. Better a five than a zero!

When you're successful and don't need to take shit from anyone, you can get away with calling yourself a 10. Ordinary people have to be more careful because of how others will perceive them, and how that will affect them. This is why I avoid comparison with celebrities. They're being gauged differently.
@EashanKotha3 жыл бұрын
@@helenatube My counter is that people will perceive you however they want. It doesn’t matter if you’re a celebrity or not lol. Celebs get much more public scrutiny. A 10 is always subjective, so I don’t think ordinary people exist-just people who believe themselves to be.

I think what I don’t like about “fake it till you make it” is the whole idea of “faking it”. I just didn’t like the idea of faking anything or feel like I’m lying or hiding lack of competence - it feels gross/entitled to me. What worked for me was actually just accepting that I’m not “there” yet but I’m working on it and doing what I have to do to get there so just put in the work - and recognize that EVERYBODY STARTS SOMEWHERE. I became confident in being an amateur rather than feeling under-confident that I wasn’t an expert yet.

One thing that really helped me with my confidence is the fact that I forget every thing embarrassing the people around me have done(unless it's someone really close to me,and even then they would have to remind me), but I always end up remembering my embarrassing moments. And that's the thing, you're not the center of the world, and literally NO ONE CARES! And that's why now I rarely consider anything I do cringy or awkward because then you're just bullying yourself for nothing! And I swear owning up to everything you do good or bad is the best way to earn people's respect .I could talk more about this but this comment would be waaaay too long. But trust me, I've come a long way from someone who could barely talk to new people to now being able to have a full on conversation with an audience of 600+ people.

The tips here are on point! Like... uncomfortably so! But you eventually gotta get uncomfortable to get what you need, want and DESERVE as a human. I put myself in second place all during my teen and young adulthood and a highly emotional situation happened with disloyal people I thought were friends and family members where they took my trust for granted. I mostly disappeared from public life for about 3 years to work on my emotional health and my creative skills and somewhere in that development, I realized I was THE SHIT because I could change my personal reality on my own terms whenever I wanted for the most part. I just had to stop worrying about other people's perception of me. Becoming cognizant of your true potential is one of the most powerful first steps you can take! Second step is to act...SO DO DAT

A second video in the same week! Gee thanks for calling me out early in the video I haven't even had my coffee yet. Anyways after reading a bunch of books early on this year there's one quote that really resonated with me, "If you put a small value upon yourself, rest assure the world will not raise your price." You're a person of high value, honnnneey, you're a Chanel or Hermes whatever your mantra is.

I’ve learned more from this KZbin channel than my combined 12 years of public American education (don’t know if that’s saying much but still)

When you said that thing about blessing people with my presence, I got tears in my eyes. I wasn't expecting that. Thank you for this thoughtful and heartfelt video.
