Remember though that any sexual relationships outside marriage are just porn and people go to hell for that. Having that in mind decide if you think marriage is good or bad. God showed only two ways, be single like a monk or married. No third way.

My walk has been stumbling daily lately especially with my discontent with singleness. I am tempted so badly because of it. I do find it helps that I have a group at my church I can speak to about this heartache as well as listen to their challenges. I also have a lot of great advice from my sister who is a strong Christian and older and more mature in Christ. It’s very tough but I guess you could say Christian council/support has helped me. Seek Godly people like yourself out. I actually prayed God would help me find cool Christians in my city to be friends with and I was led to this awesome group of girls through Celebrate Recovery. It’s been an amazing help. Even though it’s still hard God is good to me through these ladies! Lots of 💕💕💕💕💕💕

Sometimes the "want"of marriage, which is not a "need", can be so obsessive that it can take God's place and turn into idolitry. Realizing that God's love is what we NEED and understanding HIS TRUE AND UNFAILING LOVE for us is sooo big(to send your only Son to die for our eternal Salvation is the ultimate expression of His love), and consistent makes you realize that contentment is the way to go because now He (God/Christ Jesus and The Holy Spirit )is the focus because His love is ever lasting. This makes it so much easier in singleness because you figure out that God's timing is truly best, you're not relying on another person to make you happy and you are not going to make the other person miserable because there's no pressure on feeling complete through him/her. God wants us to have a mate but not to make that person #1 in your life. God should be #1 and #2 your spouse. As you said Mark, God should be our ultimate source of happiness. We need to go to Him to fill up our love tank. And He will send the right companion at the right time using the right method for each of us. Great video Mark!

@@LoveBeyondTheSea I don't think marrying to quench sexual temptation is the right way to go. Sex is important, but if it's the bases of your marriage, you're going to have a hard time the day your spouse can't meet that need. Of course, it's better to marry than burn, but making sure that you marry the right one for the right reason for the Glory of God is best...my point of view. Conclusion: Pray and let God guide you

Try telling this to single men and women who are elderly and desire a mate...What you are saying only encourage young people but there are middle aged men and women who have been alone for years and all the bingo, church picnics and grand children visiting does not help.... Some people only get to a place of acceptance and suffer in silence from being lonely....They perhaps have tried all the tips, read all the books, went to all the singles functions, got in the prayer lines; fasted and prayed; yet remain alone....Some, sadly die in their loneliness....

It's important not to idolise marriage in singleness. There are many Christians who thought marriage was the 'font of happiness.' But once they're married.... they'll realise isn't what they expected and they end up disappointed. It's important not to set yourself up for a whopping big disappointment by having unrealistic expectations of marriage. Comparing yourself to others is like using too much social media...you'll just end up thinking your life is c*** when it isn't!

People idolise marriage (single, dating, and married) because it's used as social currency. A marriage portrays to the world, "Look. Someone loves me and I have someone to love". No one talks about the negatives of marriages because then people will assume that you aren't as loved as much as you portrayed to the world. I once had a "friend" tell me, "I hope you find a love like me and B ". I was angry. Not because I felt I would never have love. Mind you I am 32 and still single, but I've never been afraid of being alone. I always had faith and still have faith that I will be in a God-filled marriage. What angered me was her complete immaturity and foolishness. So because we're 23 (at the time) and I'm not shacking up with my boyfriend, you're going to wish for me to find a "love likes yours and his" 🤣 It still makes me laugh to this day. I still get a bit upset at the comment but I also laugh. People today- especially my age- have a very misguided view regarding marriage. But, hey. These are the same people who feel they are adults because they lost their virginity by 18.

@@eve3363 Frankly, what I see among western couples as the NORM (as an outsider from a conservative east Asian culture) is dating and then break up, or dating, dating long enough, marrying just because we reach a certain age or whatever other reason, then troubles come, with angry wife who manipulates the husband, and husband reacts harshly, and then divorce. This is literally what is see among western couples. I even know of some Christians of various denominations who are or have been divorced. And these are Christians! It makes me wonder, what's going on????????!!!!! SERIOUSLY??????!!!!!!!! What's going on among Christians in west????????!!! As for me, I believe in trusting on God for a spouse. God is wiser than I am. I honestly think that people are so desperate for marriage because they only want the BENEFITS of marriage but do not in any way want to make the sacrifices necessary or fulfil the responsibilities of marriage. Not many people at all want holy matrimony at all, but only a roommate to 'enjoy life' with.

Single hood is an affliction, not a vocation. The churches are simply afraid to say it outright, so they label it a ‘vocation’. Furthermore, content creators make content on how the afflicted should be processing the suffering from this affliction. Prayer doesn’t work, to petition God for why this is happening - to get some insight for why it is happening, why it hurts in a very specific way and why he allows it to continue with no perceivable and in sight. The simple answer is there is no answer. It becomes existential at that point, how do you process your suffering in a way that is not self destructive because no one is going to give you usable insight on how it feels to be where you are now. Especially someone who is married or in a relationship

I’m so sorry for the pain you’re experiencing. It’s a different experience and type of grief that most people don’t understand Even other singles that have not experienced lifelong singleness, maybe they were married but are now divorced or lost a spouse through death and are widowed have at least shared some of their life with a partner or have children from their marriage. I’m a woman in my mid fifties and was in an abusive non marital relationship where I ended up having a child. This was before I became a Christian at 28 years old. I believed and trusted God for a spouse and a family but long story short I never married. I likened my pain to mourning a loss or death. No I did not bury a husband but I did have to bury and grieve a husband that never came and a dream that never happened. I had to bury a strong and beautiful desire for a life shared with an intimate partner in a unique way, designed by God to be different than all other earthly relationships. And still see this blessing be given to the majority of people in this world. I am like Jacob wrestling the angel, struggling to understand and submit to why God has allowed this to happen to me. Looking back I now see that although I fought and resisted God, He had me in the palm of His hand all along He was merciful, faithful, loyal, and loving, even though I was not to him. Those of us who have walked in the absence of the blessing of family have a pain that very few can relate to or understand. I’m middle aged now It’s been a long time to wrestle with God but I’m thankful I have Him. I haven’t always seen it but I’m alive today because of Him. I’m trying to stop wrestling and finally give God my pain. I pray He heals not only you’re you’re heart but also the pain in you’re soul. I pray he blesses you abundantly in every area of your life. In Jesus name. Amen 🙏🏽💔❤️‍🩹❤️

@@majesticcompany9447 When I pray to God about marriage and motherhood, I tell God that I would love to be mother and that it's the deepest desire but I also tell God that I know it's whatever in Your will and that I accept and respect Your will. I've always dreamt of being a wife and mother since I was a child. Oddly enough, I was an incredibly shy girl. It wasn't until after graduating high school that I made it a goal to be social. I was still awkward, but I improved a lot by forcing myself to converse and hang out even when I didn't want to. I found men attractive but never had enough gumption to say anything. But to be honest, none of them struck me enough to date exclusively anyway. All these years, I was single and alone but I was never lonely. I was content in being single. I still wanted marriage in the future, but not then. It wasn't until moving to a country at the age of 30 that my attitude began to change. Now I wanted to wake up next to someone. Now I wanted to be around someone all day. Now I wanted to open up and tell someone my secrets and fears. Now I wanted to share everything with someone. Now I wasn't alone; I finally felt lonely (in the romantic sense). I was focused on school so I didn't have much time to devote to me emotions. But after finishing my program, I sat with God and thats when all those hidden anger and fears I had blocked for so long finally came out. But I welcome it because I believe it's God waking up those final desires of my heart so that I can retrieve my blessings. I used to be terrified of the opposite sex, like literally shaking sometimes when around them in a romantic sense. I used to ignore text messages. I used to never go on dates. From talking with God since February and rebuilding my relationship with Him, I have gone on 3 dates. One was online and the other 2 men I actually met just walking around! I don't know what the future holds. But just seeing how much my situation changed since February, I know God is real! I was a complete mess. I really thought I was going to lose it. Sometimes I would tell myself, "Am I going crazy? Am I going to wake up one day and just be out of it"? I was in a very dark place but as I've said, I believe God put me there so that I could face what I needed to face to prepare me for my blessings. I'm making this comment because we have to be honest with ourselves. If we're still hurt by someone, tell God. If we're still having feelings about an ex, tell God. If we truly want to get married, tell God. Dont try to be macho with God and pretend like you're doing good. Be honest with Him so that He can help you.

I thank God soooooo much for you, Mark! God really spoke to me through this video! Learning that my joy only comes from God is sooooo key to prevent putting unrealistic expectations on my future spouse when I do get married! I know that God wants His best for me and not what I think is best for me and your video helped drive that truth home! I am interested in someone and that interest has been reciprocated but right now God has made it clear to both of us that He wants us to grow in intimacy with Him! We're still great friends and I'm trusting in Him to lead that friendship into whatever He wants it to be. Yes, it is extremely difficult and I've never had a close friendship with a female before and I'm 31. But, I can only give God all the credit because He's given me the grace to get out of my comfort zone and even get to know this person through the confines of a friendship. I pray that God continues to pour out His grace on all Christian singles to empower them to continue gazing upon our Heavenly Father because even in a marriage, He's the one who sustains us! I cannot thank God enough for you, Mark! I pray that God continues to grow you in deeper intimacy in your relationship with Him!

Relationships are great if you’re with the right person, but for many(most) cases it’s nearly impossible to find the one that’s perfect for you. I’m a young, kind, educated, employed and handsome young man and I have had an absolutely shameful love life, failed relationships and heartbreak throughout, the shame and reproach is there. I’ve always been a Christian and soon had an urge to get closer with Jesus and like they hymn goes I’d rather have him. I’m not ruling out the possibility of one day finding love but I’m certainly not holding my breath. The decision has affected my family more than myself and that is this biggest burden, other ones viewing me as emotionally closed off or gay and that is untrue.

I agree with you. I was single my entire life until I met my toxic ex at the age of 28, all I got was heartbreak and some emotional damage. Long story short she also drew me into the new age. Where you can get money, love and so on. And they used to tell me "I am God" and so on. Long story short there are at least 1b people on the planet that are now New Agers. I chose christianity over trying to "manifest" my desires and my ex-back. I felt God pulled me back. I feel a lot of pain right now, but it doesn't really matter because I also think we are in the end times. Diseases, A.I technology and virtual reality, New Age religion,War and so on. The signs of the end times are there.

Just keep giving it over to God, and He will guide your steps. Surrender is the only way to find peace in our singleness and if you will get married or not, regardless of the times. Remember that Jesus even mentioned that people were getting married and being given in marriage when Noah entered the arc(Luke 17:27).

That is true. When I focus on my relationship with God, I feel better because I am doing something I'm sure to get great Love than any man can give me. I'm sure he won't disappoint me. On the contrary; 😔when I meet someone, I tend to get excited and so focused on them. It's like a child with a new toy. I try to move slowly most times but I eventually get so caught up with them, I spend less time in the word and prayer. I always cut them off eventually because God keeps pulling me back to focus on him. I get confused too. Like how do I deal with relationships? I am scared I may get too attached to men amd fail my relationship with God. Especially if they don't pray much. Sigh...I sometimes do feel maybe for me, marriage is not it.

Bianca Eggers in the same boat gonna be 24 and nothing happening. I’m not the best on advice in anything in life all I can say is Psalms 84:11- 11. For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. Bianca I don’t understand what God has planned for us in life I’ve prayed for years to find a godly women who is filled with the Holy Spirit and one who Loves Jesus more then she would love me and someone who would obey God in spirit and truth. The man God wants for you will be that. Trust God and always loves Jesus above everyone and everything. Proverbs 3:5-6 5.Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Trust God Bianca Jesus loves you very much you are precious and Gods eyes and he wants what’s best for you I pray if it’s in God’s will he puts a Godly man in your life. Find the man who will love Jesus above you and everything else that will be the man that can show you true love. Those who love God keep his commandments so who obey God show truly they love Jesus. Sorry for the long rant Jesus loves you Bianca trust God.

Mark, I think you should make a video on the idea that unwanted singleness is a part of the Fall of man back in Eden. The entire universe is now cursed as is the human race. Maybe some believers fall victim to the brokenness of this world just as do some people fall victim to hurricanes, tornadoes, and tsunamis? I do agree that the churches could do a better job in dealing with their single members and the unique set of problems they experience.

I consider myself lucky to have been married before (36M, divorced). My marriage was rather enjoyable, it only ended because my ex wife didnt want kids anymore.
