Arguably the biggest tip i can give anyone playing racing games like this is to not rely on the generated racing line and work things out on your pace, or via guides like these now! I wouldn't mind seeing one for hakone given the first turn on the forward variants of all layouts is arguably impossible for me to get right. I always joke i get easily lost there given i have no clue how to get it right 😅

Yes, the racing line can be a detriment if you rely on it too much. I still am not very familiar with Hakone, just haven't driven it much. Will have to deep dive on that at some point. 😅

Excellent video HD! I can definitely see this content really helping many players. One major takeaway for me is the level of detail that a strong experienced player such as yourself takes in while driving these circuits. It’s on another level. I am now just starting to understand and experience how a track should be driven so this type of content will definitely help. I really didn’t understand the finer apexes in many circuits or use of the curbs for that matter. I understand that many experienced racers are frustrated by the lack of tracks in this version of FM, however this has helped players like myself and I think that will help the multiplayer racing experience as a whole. Keep up the great work!😀👍👍

You would be surprised how new I still am to racing. 🫣😆 Played more arcade racing games on an off for a long time but my first track racer was Assetto Corsa, followed by ACC. I had to learn tracks with no prior knowledge which probably influenced the way I approach FM as well. 😄

Great video mate!!! Something I would like to add is that if your car is a power build instead of a handling build, taking Turn 10 (La Caixa) and Turn 1 in the National Layout with a "V" line will help you more than trying to stick on the inside. Your tune/build heavily influences how you go around a track. It might simply be because of my style, but I find the game prefers a handling build for most tracks. Also for the newer players. Even if your racing line goes red, you can still take most corners with quite a lot of speed. Try taking risks (But don't punt people off) by taking the corner with a red/orange racing line instead of a yellow or blue one. I guarantee this thing alone will make you 1 or 2 seconds quicker. In most corners you can carry a lot more speed than the game actually tells you. In short, if it's a tight corner, (Like a hairpin or a sharp right/left turn) brake till your racing line goes yellow. If not try taking the corner with atleast an orangeish racing line.

Thanks for this guide ! I'd like you do do it for Silverstone, which is, in my opinion, one of the trickiest track in the game - Probably because of the similarities it has for 2 parts of it 😁 - Some other tracks are difficult, but "understandable", like Laguna Seca etc... but Silverstone ....

Silverstone is probably one of my favorite tracks, I really like it's flow. But I get that it can be difficult, as it's also very long.

@@mattmanley7118 Forza has some different track side details than other sims as well as braking boards. I was looking for new landmarks to use here anyway coming from ACC. In most places Forza is a little easier with that, since the braking boards are also put up again every lap if someone knocks them over. 😅

Hi again and a Belated Happy Xmas. Love sim racing but got the basics ( Controller and Xbox but just Got the Quest 3 WOW! Wanting to start VR SIM RACING Then upgrade. Forza isn't going to Optimise for VR . What title N tips would you recommend? Your channels growing love the Content 🤙💯💥 PS Still can't get my BMW To do what I say 🤣🤣🤣

I have no experience with VR other than testing it with ACC once at a friends house. It was okay, but not for me. So I can't really recommend anything sadly. I would just say that it seems like most of the games with better support for VR seem to be the racing sims. Those will however not play nicely on controller imo.

I'm still trying to understand the tuning for about two months. I still haven't learned what to do to stop the car from going to the side when accelerating when exiting a curve. If you accelerate with the steering wheel a little to the side, the tire is slipping, it appears to be friction.

Great video! I see that you brake on entry while still on a curb...does this ever cause trouble for you? I find that when I start braking slightly before a curb I have to be off the brake by the time I get to the curb or the car becomes to unsettled for me to make a clean corner. I experience this when I carry speed across the track out of one corner, but then need to get to the opposite side quickly to set up the next corner. On this track, it's when I'm coming out of turn four I carry speed to the left, but I need to quickly get back on the right side to set up turn 5, but if I start braking before I get to the right side curb on entry to 5 the car will get unstable unless I get off the brake before the curb. This, of course, makes the whole turn sloppy for me, scrubbing off a lot of speed. If I wait to get to the curb and then brake, I always seem to be carrying too much speed and I drift off the track.

Can't say that I experienced this on Barca. I get what you mean, I have it in other places, like going into bus stop at Watkins. For what you're describing, I would either try to not go too wide out of turn 4 and get on the curb earlier or just avoid it completely if you notice you need to brake before you get to it.

Ok thanks! I have this experience the most on turn 5 of Road America, when the speed is really high and I'm braking really hard. There I just try to avoid the curb all together. In this case I've just been trying to not drift as wide out of 4 to have a straighter approach to 5, but it's harder to do than my skill will allow. I just need to get better I suppose!

There is some kind of multiplier active in featured multiplayer that causes tire wear to be as it is there. There is currently no way to set this for single player or private multiplayer.
