Nice video and love how you broke down the variables. I've found in similar attempts, with a focus on w2w racing that FM and most sims, the driver is faster in the sim because of the lack of real world consequences, you always have a perfectly brand new car that works at 100% of its potential every time you start a session. The only thing that degrades is the tire performance over the life of a stint but that's not true IRL. Last, the conditions are basically a lab environment in the game/sim where IRL, even a cloudy or sunny day, the track conditions and wind do have an impact that is pretty hard to quantify. Keep up the videos!

Thanks! I do wish these modern games had more of the little things - heat soak, worn components, etc. I remember back in Gran Turismo 2 you had to change the oil or your engine would degrade. At least they added the ballast, though. That made it a lot closer. Thanks again for the comment.

Oh- I also loved the comment that "Forza isn't a racing simulator, it's just a game that simulates racing". Cracks me up. No Forza isn't as detailed as iRacing or some other games but it still simulates racing. That's literally what it does. I've found that typically it's the hardcore iRacing dorks making these comments. My theory is that they detest seeing anyone have fun on a sim racing game without spending $10k on a high end rig, gaming pc, and iRacing subscription.
@KompadoodleLELАй бұрын
it isnt a simulator tho lol not one bit the cars domt turn, brakes are horrible etc
@mister.midwestАй бұрын
@@KompadoodleLEL Stating that "the cars don't turn" is unequivocally false, proven easily by watching this video. I'm guessing you are being dramatic for some reason instead of stating specific grievances regarding the physics of the game as they relate to turning. Perhaps you can elaborate on what you mean by both statements to help me understand what you are getting at.
@KompadoodleLELАй бұрын
@ pretty simple to understand, the cars barely turn
@unreasonablespeedАй бұрын
@@KompadoodleLEL Which car? I've found a lot of handling issues have to do with the weird defaults that Forza has for tires and suspension. Some of the cars do have straight up broken handling until you go in and change it to something more normal. And it resets any time you change parts. For instance, I tried out the Focus RS and it had terrible understeer. Turns out the front tire pressure was set abnormally high by default.
@mister.midwestАй бұрын
@@KompadoodleLEL Your comments are actually extremely simple to understand, but only because they are also extremely simple statements. If I take them at face value, they barely even warrant an explanation. In effort to be accommodating, consider this: If someone plays iRacing on a basic, completely stock entry level Logitech force feedback wheel, are they still allowed to say they are sim racing? Logitech entry level wheels are barely worth comparing to high end or even mid-tier direct drive setups yet we all know it's good enough to simulate racing. Nobody is saying that Forza is as good as iRacing, but every single key ingredient is there. One might joke that a crappy frozen pizza "isn't pizza" because it's nowhere as good as the real deal, BUT at the end of the day it's still pizza. If one actually felt strongly about excluding frozen pizza from conversations about pizza, they would need to significantly redefine the actual definition of pizza in order to make it true. Same goes for sim racing. Thanks for attending my Ted Talk.

One of the best Forza-related vids I've seen! I can't even imagine the agony of slapping a fresh coat of paint on a car just to wreck it shortly after, my condolences. Kudos for the good attitude and perseverance. Also- what is up with cars throwing on their hazards in heavy rain? Virtually nobody does this where I live in the Midwest, but when I lived in Houston for a few years almost everyone would do that in any heavy rain situation. I understand the logic, but I think having 10 cars around you with flashing hazards is too much stimulation when the heavy rain / weather already causes a sensory overload.
