Some of the most exciting chess I've watched was with the trash talking that came from PogChamps, Ludwig, Charlie, XQC, ect. Do I enjoy these crazy high rated tournament games? Yeah for sure. But I wanna see Magnus literally get up after a game and just tell the interviewer he rolled his opponent so hard it wasn't worth coming to the event.

How to beat a 2770 with no rook, too easy, start with a quick left jab, step in with a loaded up left hook then a big right uppercut to finish em off. Then you take his king and run away.

This is one of the craziest games in recent memory, Alireza just sacrificing his rook like that was very brave from him. He didn't give Rapport any breathing space and just kept attacking him hencewhy he wasn't even able to castle, it was just attack after attack from Firouzja. I'm so happy for him to finally crack into the Top 10 in classical chess, and he definitely has potential to dominate chess for the next 10-15 years, he has a bright future ahead of him.
@omerben-ami2018

if you like games like that, take a look at Caruana vs MVL from the recent Candidates tournament round 8. they had a year to prepare. Fabi went down 6 points of material in the first 20 moves, was up 1 hour on the clock, and went to an extremely difficult endgame for him to win, and an extremely difficult endgame for MVL to hold (even Magnus could lose in this situation, only moves to save the game, very hard to draw. was draw, then a win, then again a draw, but ended in a win). that's the beginning of futuristic chess...

@@omerben-ami2018 yes but this game was like MVL vs the engine. Firouzja said he invented the rook trade over the freaking board. Fabi played like 25-30 moves of preparation.

Actually, for the little nugget of knowledge, (Alfred North) Whitehead is a famous british logician, he wrote Principia Mathematica* alongside Bertrand Russell, a super important book about the fondations of logic (it was between 1910 and 1913). I’ve always felt that the point system of each piece has been missing the aspect of potential. Black also had a rook on H8, but it never did anything! Didn’t threaten anything, didn’t protect anything; I wouldn’t say it would be worth it’s full 5 points until it’s activated in a better position. White may be down on points, but is killing it positionally
