I was served with an order of protection from my narcissist wife 21 days ago! Kicked out of my house with no contact with my kids! I have always been a great husband and father and forgiven my wife so many times over 17 years only to be beaten down and I am a very strong headed and level , loving man! I did not even figure out what a narcissist was until 2 months ago after all these years! I was so sad and upset knowing this woman could cry and lie her way through anything! I knew that everything on the protection order was a lie but she has always gotten her way. I just could not afford a lawyer either so I felt I was doomed! After a few days I said I have to find a way to do this on my own she cannot do this! My new saying was the truth will set me free! So I started making myself thinking positive over and over you can do this! So I started watching all these video's on Utube about how to beat a narcissist in court and video's on inner strength and being confident again! I stayed up many hours at night rereading the order and how to beat each claim and prove she was lying! In court yesterday I was ready with all my papers out and barely nervous even though I really didn't know what was going to happen! When she went on the stand I looked down and did not react to her lies and it bothered her I could tell! So I went up with my questions on each claim and she put her own foot in her mouth each time not expecting these questions and even admitted that she lied and actually was abusive towards me! She was stunned and shocked and the judge was also shocked! I told the judge the truth and all about her bad habits etc and my wife flipped out and the judge was not happy with her at all! The judge dismissed the order against me with prejudice!! And warned her she could put her in jail for misuse of a protection order! So my point is if you are like me and not perfect but fighting against a horrible narcissist person in court get your mind and soul in check and realize you can do this! It's tough and I am not any kind of lawyer smart but I was not letting this lying narcissist take my life away from me! Be confident! Study, read, watch all the videos you can, take many notes, prepare, if you don't get a lawyer or put in the work they will win! You can make it happen! I did! Thank you Rebecca!!

Bro, I wish I could hug you right now. I'm divorcing my wife after 4 years of marriage with one son, aged 3. I was abused inside and out during these 4 years, and I thought I was going crazy. I kept wondering who the real problem was, feeling completely clueless. A few days ago, I decided to ask ChatGPT about why my wife was behaving the way she was, in detail. The answer pointed to "Narcissist traits." I had no idea what that was until I started researching online, watching KZbin videos, and asking ChatGPT for more information. It became so clear that I am dealing with a narcissist wife, along with her narcissist mom and brother! They're like an occult! No wonder I felt so demotivated, like I was the bad guy while they were having fun. Now, I'm filing for a divorce, which is coming up this month. I need to win the court case and get child custody. My son is currently with her, they are renting a small room, while I'm living in a two-story house. I want my son to live with a caring, loving, and empathetic dad like me and to be comfortable at home with me!

This video is so so accurate!! My attorney always mentioned the “mommy white hat” during the custody battle and it worked. I did ALL of these things including not having conversations over the phone. His summer access was cut in half, he was denied the extra time he was asking for and I was given FINAL SAY!! This completely works. With Rebecca’s videos I always felt like I had a second attorney. Such valuable information, thank you Rebecca!!

Thank you for your post. I needed the reminder to not have discussions over the phone. My soon to be ex has been pressuring me to chat with him over the phone and it always works against me. @@TruthBeTold0914 Yes!! I could not afford to get on the phone because I always felt like he would twist my words and say we agreed to something I didn’t and it would turn into his word against mine which gets me absolutely no where cause they can talk themselves out of anything …OR he would have a third person listening in and they would back him up in lying about something I said. It is one of those boundaries I would not move. He would get angry and accuse me of being immature and not being able to handle “adult” conversations all the while he was just angry I was wise enough not to be pulled into his verbal escapades or give him a chance to be slick and manipulative.

Rebecca, you have no idea how valuable I am finding your videos. I have been trying (and failing miserably) to co-parent with my ex for over 4 years. He has been violating the restraining order and parenting agreement consistently for years and the judge will not help me. They forced me into mediation with him (which isn't allowed in NJ) which just escalated his behavior. I am so exhausted and drained. I am scared for my son and for the future of my family if he isn't stopped. Thank you for these videos as they give me some hope!

I did!! I got him indicted for not paying 10 months of spousal support. He was shocked and still in shocked but now I have a big fat check paying off his arrears, lawyer’s fees directly accrued from the indictment plus penalties. The check just needs to clear from the bank hold. I was close to giving up. Right from day one, I told him that our communication is limited to texts, emails or through our lawyers. I am peaceful until I start to start preparing again for another hearing. We just entered our 4th year into this divorce. My stbx narc filed 2 months before our 10th year anniversary. That’s another hot topic. Divorce from a lawyer narc is the worst! He doesn’t know that I have a couple more leverage. More shock to come.

Loved watching your videos. My new partner has said so many things that you’ve spoken about so I know i am in the right place for help with her, she is so amazing. My ex has rinsed me of at least £70-100k whilst I was with her. She has also caused my now grown up children to be alienated from me to a degree. I’m going through a financial separation at present and I’ve documented so many things that if we go to court, she has a surprise or two coming. The HMRC (tax man) in the uk will possibly want to speak to her after we’re done. It’s like the old saying, keep smiling it makes them think you know something they don’t. Keep up the great advice.

Beat a Narcissist in Court: 1. Knock 'em D.e.a.d. Document Everything. 2. Keep your emotions in check. They will use your reactions against you. Don't give in too easily in the negotiations. 3. Always wear the white hat. Be the one the judge sees as the good one. Be the adult in the room, consistently not engaging, always behaving and doing the right thing. Let her be the badly behaved one. 4. Don't go anywhere alone. (They will lie about you. You will need a witness.) Have exchanges of the child when others are around--not by yourself. Make sure depositions are videotaped. 5. Decoys--Do not give them your best evidence until you are ready, in court. Don't let them derail your case. Keep your leverage in hand. Build an invisible fence around them. Feign weakness or ignorance for awhile, and allow them to go off. Let them screw up. Don't show your hand.

All great strategies if you have a good law firm to back you. I hired a FL "super law firm" 5 months ago. I gave them the SLAY list & stressed how important it is to combat someone with NPD. To date, I've been assigned 4 inexperienced attorneys before I even reach court mediation. Each has seemed very complacent on the few occasions that I've met with them. I'm very concerned that I hired a firm that is not interested in my defense. I spent months turning over documents but no feedback or fight for my defense. Trying to decide if I should look for a new firm or if it's too late. I'm so disappointed...

Listen, I’m no professional, but I’ve been in the legal arena in one way , shape or form for over a decade sadly, you can ( and most likely will) be disappointed by an attorney you are so very confident in, but the worst thing is looking back and seeing at every turn they didn’t get on board, didn’t seem concerned, weren’t proactive - I hope you haven’t sank your entire legal fund w them, but my advice is to go and hire others asap- if they refuse your money back, file a complaint with the state bar- it’s ok to go to them in advance and maybe try to work this out, but please , let any disappointment you get at the end, at least be things completely out of your hand- not every lawyer is going to care for your fight- and not every one is up for the fight you need them to be-

My abusive, controlling, stalking, lying husband was just terminated by his attorney for a ‘breakdown in client attorney relationship’. I can only wonder why he was fired. Maybe for tax fraud, ignoring requests to no longer stalk or threaten me. Sheriff’s, police or family court won’t help me - he gets to continue his bad behaviors without consequences like he always has. I’m afraid that without his attorney trying to keep him on the right path, he has no tether to reality.

I was no contact until random packages started showing up at my house, and one was very expensive motorcycle gear that was addressed to him. I wanted to do the nice thing and return it. I reached out for a return label. He suggested we meet up. I said no. But it escalated. Two more packages addressed to ME showed up after. I told him via text I wouldn’t tell anyone we communicated. There’s no order but we were both advised by our lawyers not to. Now I feel like I need to tell my attorney all that’s happened. Will I get in trouble!
@deejames1st2 жыл бұрын
Why not just return all the packages back to the sender. That’s an option. Take them to the post office, for the ones addressed to him you say there’s no such person at that address, for the ones sent to you, you simply tell the post office you don’t know what they are, and would like to send them back to the sender. You’re under no obligation to contact him because of a package you didn’t order, but you did so anyway. I think the real question and concern is that instead of returning the packages to sender you chose to contact him. I’d speak to the attorney as well as a therapist about this.

@@summerlandgirl8058 You were trying to be nice because you’re a normal sane rational human being and unfortunately you’re dealing with a non human who is none of those things. and ya it’s too late you already engaged with the thing but as we always say better late than never. Disengage as much as possible and understand what the other person said about not being responsible for any of those packages. You will need to set your firm boundaries in place, let him know, and if he is suddenly surprised and tells you “that’s crazy” because you hadn’t done so before; you’re response should simply be “oh well it’s that way now. Deal with it” then you stop talking and walk away (stop texting etc) End of situation. If he doesn’t like it and goes crazy well that’s just too bad. You do not owe him any explanation. Zero.
@deejames1st2 жыл бұрын
@@summerlandgirl8058 Any time you break your own boundaries and lower your own standards, things will escalate. Not only with a past partner but in life period. The other commenter said to be firm and they are correct. Being nice, wanting to be nice, and people pleasing are what attracts narcs. When a package shows up or he texts you, ignore it. It’s not your package. It’s not your responsibility. If someone texts you, and you don’t like them, ignore them. Because you’re not obligated to be nice, but you think you are. But since you initiated the actual contact via text, I’d still suggest you speak to some kind of counselor/therapist to find out why you’re having these difficulties.

@@RaindropsKeepFallinOnMyHead we were not married but lived together long enough to be considered 'common law'..so after the last time he assaulted me, I got a restraining order on him and filed for divorce. Because we did not share financial accounts together, the judge would not consider us common law but assigned a mediator to our case because I made financial demands to be paid back what he owed me. When in the meeting with the mediator, I showed him my written offer, which was fair and he knew it...i asked the mediator, in front of the narc, that if he did not take my offer if I could go ahead and sue him in open court, she said yes. I then turned to him and exclaimed that if he did not agree to my offer, then it would be off the table and I would sue him for everything else that he screwed me out of. He took the offer...making it legally binding.

Not possible. In the beginning it was heaven! We were inseparable. Years went by and we built an amazing seminar business together. 200 cities a year. Often working 24/7. We married and had a beautiful son!, I wish I found you before I went to court for 20 years. When I watched your interview with him more lies came to light: his working history and his income. You must have realized, when he avoided talking about narcissism, something was up. Our relationship eventually became a rollercoaster of manipulation, lies, and gaslighting. Many, many fringe-women in the wings for what I learned was "supply". Contradictions to what really happened? yes. Lies? yes. Intimidation? Yes. Fear? Threats? yes. He used everything against me. Yes! He threatened to put me back where he found me. He threatened to kill me. Flying Monkeys? Many, everywhere around him. He isolated me by moving me away from my family to California. He was a rage-a-holic. He used anger to manipulate me. I burned out but fought back not knowing what I was dealing with -- over 20 years in court. He stared down the judge in chambers without blinking right in front of me and she bought it. (He used that stare on me when we met -- I bought it too!) Stunning! He assigned his fourth wife, Linda to take my calls. Claimed poverty. She became another flying monkey! He denied our existence: our marriage, our amazing son Marcus and his beautiful son from his first marriage, Bobby. These children are not nothing! The truth is not nothing! It is a very, very long road to recovery. Psychopath, narcissist, whatever you want to call them, stay clear -- they WILL ruin your life.
