Can you please tell me what do do after the narc used gaslighting when they discarded you? It made me so desperate that I was begging and stalked, I said thing because of anger. I would like to add…whatever the narcissist accuses you of, is exactly what they are doing. So pay attention. If they say you are hiding assets, then they are. If they are defensive about something…go deeper and investigate the truth. They will accuse you…of everything they themselves do. Use that knowledge instead of getting offended. See past the lies and prepare your case.

This is so true. I remember my narc baby mama accused me of being abusive right when I was finally starting to wake up and realize she was abusing me. I put her on the spot in a co-parenting therapy session and asked her “how am I being abusive?” She just stammered out some stuff that made absolutely no sense. It’s helped me a lot to realize the narc is completely full of s***. Their whole act is a big bluff. But like in poker, we wanna make sure we have at least a decent hand to call their bluffs with (meaning we won’t win every battle against them but over time with sound strategy we’ll win the war).

@@heathersoper6923 Yes, judges don't side with a party when they get angry. They look at the anger as a sign of being at fault, not as the party reacting to true wrongdoing against them. The main one you should be responding to is the judge. Just the facts.

Is it easier to just settle for nothing and just be done and sign papers? Or hold them accountable and keep fighting for a settlement? I’m so exhausted and tired of fighting 😞 *EDIT* It took 13 months for my divorce to settle and a year and a half to finalize but it’s done. There were many times I almost gave up and walked away with nothing in the process but I kept fighting and won. The biggest lessons I learned in all of this is to keep your cool and do your research when hiring an attorney. Hire one that’s educated with narcissism. If the narcissist is making threats during the process, document that for evidence. I had to take out a restraining order on my ex in the process with the threats. Document literally everything! Texts messages, phone calls, everything. Do not protect them…. I learned people like this won’t ever change

Keep in mind you may not even have that choice. They want to destroy and inconvenience you, not "win" the case. They *may* have to walk away before they accomplish that goal, but if you accept their terms right out of the gate, they'll likely move the goalposts.

I hired a lawyer to help me in dealing with this person in my life that has narcissistic personality traits. We filed our response documents yesterday and I feel very prepared. I am cautiously optimistic and if she makes an intelligent adult decision she will want to end this before court because she does not have legal standing, if if the decision goes against her she will owe my legal cost.

I’m in the middle of a divorce with a narcissist right now because of cheating in a no fault state. This has been extremely difficult and the attorneys are battling it all out. Of course the narcissist will never want to settle on anything either. However I did request for my attorney fees to be included in the settlement. My husband is dragging his feet and it’s been an absolute nightmare

Important: If you cannot definitively prove something a narc did, let it go. If you raise it without proof, doing so will only make you look bad. Keeping provable facts succinct will make the judge much more open to hearing you out.

I am glad to hear this. At our deposition my ex put his fingers to his mouth and stuck his tongue through at me and mouthed the words CU.. and whor. I really was embarrassed for him and for me that I married a guy that would behave like that at something as serious as a deposition. My lawyer kept noting it to the stenographer. His lawyer pulled him aside a few times but didn’t help. She dumped him as a client not too long after that. But I love the idea of video. It wouldve caught him doing that. He won shared custody but when my daughter got to her teens she refused to see him and its been 6 yrs no contact.

I've been a victim of the smear campaign tactic in a very recent court hearing involving our narcissistic HOA president. I represented myself in that hearing. The opposition of course had an attorney being paid for by the homeowners. The HOA president didn't speak at all during the hearing. But his attorney spent the better part of 1hr 40minutes talking his client out of a sealed bag. The judge saw through most of it but not all of it. I will get another very soon to right those wrongs and I will object this time to the opposing attorney rambling on about things that aren't facts and not entered into evidence. @@drcliffbrickman6087 Well, for over 4 months, I have spent time almost every day honing two summaries: one that outlines the narc's crimes with documentary proof for each element needed to prove the crimes, and one that is a personality profile that demonstrates the perpetrator's vitriol toward me with documentary evidence to support each act so that there is no mistaking or excusing as unintentional what the narc has done. The biggest challenge has been to get the summaries down to very concise wording in short enough formats that the D.A. will be convinced beyond a shadow of a doubt that they have solid proof, and that I will make a very strong witness that understands the issues, and will work well with their office in securing a conviction. The people of Missouri are fed up with white collar crimes, especially fraud and embezzlement, so the D.A. needs to feel secure in being able to put that win in their column.

My own case? Since the narc bullied Mom into putting an in terorum (disinherit) clause in her trust, I cannot bring a civil suit against him, but that doesn't rule out criminal embezzlement charges. When he gets convicted, that will take him out of the scene for a good long time so I can move out of the area before he gets released. Mom's last words to me were, "we've gotta get that bumb," & my last words to her were, "we will," & I intend to keep my word to her. The embezzlement charges are my leverage against the disinherit clause he bullied out of Mom.

Rebecca, you would have been the perfect attorney for my case. I filed for divorce in 2019 since then my ex wife made my life and our kids lives miserable. I spent all my savings and I am buried in debt from friends and family. I hired 6 attorneys on different occasions but nothing can’t stop her from trying to kick me out of our kids lives. She is extremely manipulative. She used 5 strategies against me. 1 draining me financially and emotionally, 2 manipulating the court system, 3 hurting me through the kids by neglecting their education and health 4 harassing me my friends and my family 5 brain washing my kids against me. It’s really hurt full to see my kids are getting brain washed . My older daughter just refused to come with me. I feel helpless. As a taxi driver and not having a lot of money I did everything I could just to be in our kids lives so they don’t feel what I felt while growing up but I am failing

Not in court, but during a "red flag" meeting at work in which I was calling out a narcissistic coworker's pattern of behavior, I successfully lead the narcissistic coworker to impeachment during her testimony to the boss. She denied saying something, I stayed perfectly silent, and then she clearly felt like her authenticity was being pondered and went into a line of argument. She has made this argument to me before in person, and before I had interrupted it for a small rebuttal on one point--I very intentionally passed on the rebuttal and let her go on...straight into saying the very thing she had denied saying earlier during the meeting. And I know our boss caught it because she let out a tiny gasp of disbelief. And ever since, the narcissist has been VERY uncomfortable at work 😅😅 --All she had to do to prove me wrong and invalidate what I said during the meeting was to NOT be insulting and demeaning, and stop devaluing people. She CANNOT do it. And so she's digging her own grave over time, and I'm documenting ALL of it. I can wait her out. She'll eventually get tired of nobody believing her BS anymore and will move on. I certainly hope so.

I wish lawyers would be more transparent and tell their clients that they can file a motion to disqualify the (often narcissistic) judge for bias and others reason. The attorneys often don’t to protect their relationships before the judges. OK, but they will charge you full rate while they tell you they’re zealously fighting for you.

When Nsister's 50B RO was denied and dismissed by the Judge, she said "I respect your decision" twice, which looks like an innocuous statement in the transcript. What is not reflected in the transcript is how she said it -- with disdain and anger. Once we went off the record and I was headed out the door, I heard the Judge sternly say "ma'am" and one of the bailiffs moved closer to NS's table. Listening to the recording, she had said, "I guess some people can get away with harrassing others." BTW, the judge listened to 30 minutes of her 'evidence' and made his ruling. I never had to say a word other than "Good morning, Your Honor," and "Thank you, Your Honor."

In the UK, you can't be 'coached' as a witness or be given example cross-exam questions. My lawyers are ethical and don't coach me. But it's obv he's being coached. Cannot prove it though

The only alternative to walking away from a narcissist is to make them your hobby. Pick up the glove and realize that you are going to sacrifice more than you will ever win back and just accept that this is your contribution to mankind. By picking up the glove I mean: engage. Out-narcissist them. Stalk the stalker back. Expose them. Inform everybody around him of all court verdicts, all debts. Make copies. Shove them through mail boxes. The alternative is that they just deny that they are in trouble and tell bad stories about you. A narcissist will just say they won the case while you have the verdict in front of you that says you won. Then they will say that the court was corrupted. Etcetera. Share your documents. Keep your head up. Some people climb Mount Everest for a challenge. This is your challenge. I like to think that it's better to have a difficult situation with your narcissist than your oncologist. Feel blessed that this is your curse and realise some people die miserably before they reach the age of 10. Take it like a man. When you crumble, take a few days, then get up again and continue. And always, at any point in time, know that it's worth the effort no matter the hours and money spent. You're not fighting for money or goods. You are fighting for your dignity and mental sanity. And you are fighting for a society where normal people have the upper hand over mad people. Remember, if you don't fight the fight, nobody might, and you might end up in a communistic dictatorship where such people rule by nature.

@@RebeccaZungEsq I'm in year nine of my fights with my narcissistic neighbor. My main weapon against him: "everybody knows". Expose, expose, expose. He left the country. I'm foreclosing all his properties. I sent the court verdicts to his employer and land lord, including video evidence of him assaulting my wife in order to prove he's 'king of the street'. He sued me, the judge chased him out of the court room. He filed 'toilet paper' as 'evidence' like it's a Monty Python scene. But yeah, 'm out of the tunnel. But it's been tough, very tough. One final takeaway: at one point they 'wait out their problems' hoping that after a few years in court you're so tired of it that you want to just let it go. Instead of 'losing bigtime' they hope the thing will fizzle out. They have a stragegy to hide under a stone while losing, but this is exactly when you need to keep stepping up. Like with antibiotics: finish the treatment.

Do not let grabdma be so involved in your daily life. Or Childs daily life. Get 3rd party daycare provider. Move further away, so they cant stip in the house. Change locks. Reduce the amiunt of time kids spend at grand parents. Esp if alone. Look into setting boundaries, and creating space. Seek therapy for you, and you can learn new coping skills. Best wishes.

@@cathycoryell2351 well I’ve already set boundaries and she steadily crosses them, she’s not in my daily life, but feels the need to intervene/interfere with my decision making and oversteps that always. I’m tryna to move away but she’s trying to prevent it from acquiring rights to my child again which is another long story 🤦🏼‍♀️ my kids old enough to stay home rn tbh. So yea I’m still dealing with all this, all the while she’s psychologically and mentally abusing my kid and using my kid as a pawn 🤦🏼‍♀️😔 it’s sad really that a grandmother would go to these extremes knowing good and dam well I’m a good mom and I take good care of my child BY MYSELF AS A SINGLE MOTHER! So if none else I’m proud of my dam self for everything I’ve gone thru dealing with her all my life! But tysm for the input I greatly appreciate it 😁

Court does not accept video. These suggestions may not apply in all states, county. Best information i was told: The court only wants you out of their courtroom, does not care about abuse, and wants to say each parent has access to the child, to build their own relationship. Or abuse, doesn't matter. Each parent gets their time. Good luck.

What does your custody agreement say about travel oit of state? Many allow for notification of travel, for vacations. If he notified you of travel, that may be all that is required. Not returning the child on schedule is another matter, and more likely to be recognized by a court.

Obstruction? An accounting is long overdue from the estate attorney who is controlled by the narcissist trustee. Until I get definitive proof from the accounting that the narc embezzled estate assets, my game plan is stalled to move forward with the embezzlement investigation by police. I'm thinking about reporting to the state bar the attorney's delay with providing the accounting, but meanwhile, I have had time to send to another heir (who must also approve the accounting when it comes) proof that I paid rent that the narc has not credited me as having paid. No doubt, the narc will give me a short deadline for approving the accounting, saying if I don't meet the deadline, he will say I'm interfering with his admin of the estate, & then try to invoke the disinherit clause against me. So, it's very important to utilize down time while the narc instructs your receipt of vital evidence. By the date the accounting arrives, that other heir has to be firmly in my corner, such that he also scrutinizes the accounting, & the day the accounting arrives to me, I take it to the police with my summaries & evidence binder.
