I pretend my Library card is a credit card and I "shop" at the Library for books and audiobooks. I listen to the audiobooks during my work commute, which keeps me from hearing ads and chatter on the radio. I love it, so I totally agree with you. We find free things to do around town. I've done this since my daughter was little.

Yes! I was a divorced mom with 3 kids and everything that goes along with it so I learned to get creative and found out that there are many free things to see and do in Missouri! Museums, zoo, Muny, parks and Library! I used coupons and Groupons! Once you start doing things for free it's very satisfying and you look forward to it! When I have a little extra money I stock up on necessities and shop at the clearance rack or Goodwill. I was determined to live and enjoy my life. Instead of focusing on what I don't have I decided to figured out how to get what I wanted or needed by doing side hustles like cleaning houses. Where there's a will there's a way!!

Best video to date! I will revisit this one often. Fantastic tips. Thank you, Sarah! I am feeling pretty motivated this week as I passed a debt reduction threshhold. So far I have paid off $15k of my debt in the last 15 months. Still a long way to go but if all goes according to plan I will be debt free except for the mortgage by mid 2018. When I started this journey I felt overwhelmed by the debt. Your very useful tips and advice have helped me so much to stay focused and see that it is doable and actually enjoy the journey! You are a blessing.

I am rewatching this video because, ever since I paid off my debt in June, I got fairly far away from my budget lol. I need to get back to it. I didn't go crazy b/c I was frugal for sooooooo long, but there were a few things that I wanted to update in my apartment. To meet my new goal of saving 6 months of living expenses, I need to start budgeting again!

Hi Budget girl.. My latest problem - the death of my lawnmower. I just purchased a used electric lawnmower online from someone which cost me 40 dollars but more than half the price of buying a new one, which means that I will have money left in the budget to buy the other things I need this week and still be able to hang onto my bonus money :) I should probably explain that the lawnmower I got is probably too small for my yard but I can make do with it for a bit :)

Hey BudgetGirl, love your videos I enjoy binge watching them while I do my budget. My question is regarding capital one 360 how long does it take for transactions from your regular bank and capital one account to be successful and does capital one 360 provide a debit card or it strictly online only transition. Thank you and keep knocking out debt. 🏆

Yea, golf is the worst hobby ever!! lol. So true about using stuff around your house for organizing. I've always wanted to go to the Container Store just because I've never been but thankfully we always end up finding something at home and don't end up spending money. You look very pretty in this video!

+Jessica Ashley I hope you don't think I was picking on your hubby.. I know that's his one thing and that he does things to save money on golf, but it was the first thing I thought of when considering expensive hobbies :-) Of course now you're debt free, which means he can golf all he wants right? Or so he thinks? ;-)

Omg I'm so glad that I ran across your channel and I so admire you Sarah ( idk if you misspelled your name!) nonetheless I cannot wait to be sent free...i'm slowly cleaning my debt and living on a budget...and it takes discipline...i think that I have to give up mani/ pedi again because the nail tech do a good job 1st, 2nd, 3rd visits and then they tend to be lazy! And I tip well like $20.. and have it done every 2 weeks but idk I can save between $80 to a $100 a month.. but anyways you're an inspirational. TY 💜
@BudgetGirl6 жыл бұрын
Welcome Jennifer! And you got it right, Sarah. :-) I'd definitely consider cutting out pedis and manis while getting out of debt. It's easy enough to do them at home and then you can use a salon visit as a treat when you hit your milestones or maybe just a quarterly touch up. Once you're out of debt, get your booty back to that salon if it makes you happy! but I promise the short term sacrifice is worth it!
