The guy used his sickness to play an cheat others (everyone scamming the government for food stamps that u don't need, or claiming fake illness for coverage, watch ur backs as u may find ur self in the hands of jigsaw). Now the homeless thing ur mentioning, I think ur aiming it at the guy who killed John's baby. Jill tried to be nice to those who we're struggling, and it cost Jill an John their unborn child. Bobby's trail was for lying an spreading false claims to become famous. Jeff's trail was to show that revenge makes u lose the best things in life, like his wife an daughter. The SWAT guys reason was that saving everyone, comes at the price of loosing everyone u love lives an such. Dr Gordon an Zap, were tested to see how far they would go to get their families back or get something for themselves. Mr Eastons reasoning was certain choices u make have consequences, by denying insurance to others who need it. He basically kills them an leaves their families broken. The list goes on an on but those are just a few decent examples, so next time ur watching the saw movies. Listen closely and pay attention, then may be u will learn the truth behind their trials.

@@hotmessexpress20 I'm just saying that the total reasoning that jigsaw gives for putting some people in traps is stupid. You are looking way too deep into the reasoning of one of jigsaws reasons for putting a guy that faked being sick for work. And you're saying that jigsaws reasoning is perfectly valid even though it's not. He clearly put him in the trap solely because he faked being sick. It's not as deep as the reasoning you put in another comment. It's just the fact that the guy in the trap was put in the trap for absolutely nothing.

Quite litterally the whole movie is "Listen closely to what Jigsaw tells you and you'll be fine". There is almost no need for cheating the traps. Except the pendulum and the water tank on the head, every trap was beatable by listening closely.
@darklord8843 жыл бұрын
That is ultimately the point of this movie though and after the slogfest that was SAW IV and III, this is brilliant for once. Throughout the entire game, Jigsaw tells them to work together and to not be selfish, then mentions that one of them may die in each trap and they just go for the latter part without ever considering working together, except to take pity on those already beaten down.
@darklord8843 жыл бұрын
@Jacob Pleggenkuhle That is a valid question. The victims had no extra restraints or explosives or traps on them that could be remotely triggered, so I doubt Hoffman could've done much to them aside from maybe shooting them with his gun if they did cheat. Maybe he could've gassed them if he saw them through the cameras, but if I'm correct, he actually left this project to go on autopilot and didn't intervene at all, meaning nobody could've stopped the victims if they did cheat the blood bottle trap.
@darklord8843 жыл бұрын
@Jacob Pleggenkuhle To be honest, Brit and Mallick didn't know that though. They only saw the cameras and could easily assume the killer was watching them.
@darklord8843 жыл бұрын
@Jacob Pleggenkuhle Most of the traps are designed in a way to focus your attention. This is mainly for movie purposes, but it goes with basic psychology. The victims feel threatened by Jigsaw and are also subconsciously acknowledging him as an authority figure. The fact they can't just say "No." when they see Billy the Puppet and hear the words "I want to play a game" as well as the fact that Jigsaw knows deeply personal things about them makes them feel helpless and instills in them the feeling that the "game-master" is an authority figure and thus must be obeyed and the rules of the game must be followed. Due to this and the fear for their own life, the victims are likely to get tunnel vision and not even consider cheating or circumventing the traps that Jigsaw puts before them. Most minds shut down and fail to realise the killer as a man who has limits and the traps as man-made contraptions that can be circumvented. Even Jigsaw's disciples are prone to doing this. Amanda sees John as a god-like figure whom she follows like a loyal puppydog (yeah SAW III had her rebel against John, but that was an act because Hoffman threatened her to do so) and Hoffman, despite hating John and his moral preaching about killing, never took action against the man because he was afraid of him. Edit: Not to mention that some people did actually try cheating, such as Gordon and Adam with the fake poisoned cigarette (failed due to Zepp shocking the cuffs), Detective Sing shooting the neck-drill trap instead of using the keys (failed because the point was to give John time to escape, not to kill the victim) and Xavier trying to bash the doors open to the gashouse (failed because the doors were reinforced).

Yeah the characters being selfish/irrational assholes is what was the ultimate issue in the end. If it were any other group of people it might’ve went a different way. But that’s the genius of the group traps in this one: they were chosen because of their selfish/arrogant personalities. Putting them in a trap alone wouldn’t truly test them because the point they needed to learn was to be selfless for once.
@FirstLast-mn3un4 жыл бұрын
Yea but the thing is in the heat of moment, most people would be selfish and try to save themselves. Everyone believes that they would be smart and try to work as a team but in the moment everyone would worry about saving their own ass. On top of that, 60 seconds is a super short amount of time to do anything, there’s still a high chance of someone dying even if everyone were to work together

John Kramer is mechanical Engineer, and the pay of engineer is really good. He has tons of money (as mentioned in Saw 6 during his insurance scene) and those tv cost very less Not expensive, if you buy them in lot. And for abandon buildings, it is a tricky question? He either owns them by taking loans and stuff. Or he just know they are abandon and use them for these traps. I mean there is reasons they are called "abandon".

I think that he reuses a lot of the stuff for multiple games. He could keep using the same TV more than once as long as he moves it to a new place before the cops find it and he probably records new messages over old tapes from previous games. But even then, clearly he has a lot of them so he can do multiple games at once. As for the buildings, no he probably doesn’t own them. It’s possible that he owns a few of them, like the house that they used in Saw 2, but most of them were broken down shitholes ready to be condemned in the poor neighborhoods of the city. All he would have to do is sneak into those places and start setting up shop. If nobody lives there and there aren’t any cops around, nobody would notice.

With Strahm's death trap at the end, there is one other solution. He could take off his jacket, go around to the back of the box, and jam the gears, so that the coffin box won't get lowered. One of two things would happen: 1) the jam would cause the trap to stop, or 2) the trap could continue and potentially crush the coffin, forcing Hoffman to exit the box and Strahm could stop him.
@IngridBlanck3 жыл бұрын
I also thought of the second possibility but in the beginning of Saw VI we see that Hoffmann deactivated the trap from another room after leaving the coffin... did he have something like a small remote controller in his pocket to deactivate the trap in the case of Strahm actually following the tape's advice or was that a one chance only trap where the only outcome was Strahm locking Hoffmann in the glass coffin assuming it would kill him...? Too many questions, but it was the best example of Hoffmann's newly acquired abilities to predict the most possible outcomes... like John said "when you're good at predicting the human mind, it leaves nothing to chance".

These videos always crack me up, because they all operate under one assumption: That you're going to be able to think calmly and rationally under extreme stress. There is a massive difference between working out a problem from the safety and comfort of your own home and being in a situation which is literally "Get that key in the next 60 seconds or you're going to die in a horrifically painful way." I mean, hell, watch people freak out and freeze from a jump scare in a video game, when they know they're completely safe.

I think its hard to design death traps like in saw 1 where you have days of time to make your decisions without making them repetitive and they are less spectular than the later traps in general. I am an electrician, your idea with wet cloth would work, although the liquid would dry out pretty quickly from the heat generated by the resistance created. I think a better solution exists: assuming they have access to the other rooms (or like a thinking sentient being try to plan ahead) they could perhaps take some of the chain from the first room, and DEFINITELY take some broken glass as a weapon or cutting tool. However you look at it, broken glass is a godsend, can be used to strip the wire or defend yourself from the other contestants. The chain, if obtainable, can act as the wire you need for the third room, or a rope if needed. the second room had sticks which seem like a good thing to bring, just go back into the room after the bomb goes off, also depending on the amperage of the electricity, wood can be a conductor, also could soak it in a similar manner to your solution. third room looks like it has a lot of stuff in it, but i dont see anything i would want to take... the fourth room is a joke. in any survival situation rope and a blade are vital. A way to make fire would be good, dont think i see a way here? maybe the electricity, but that's super limited to that room.

Regarding the bathrub puzzle, since I'm an electrician: 1. Your seggestion of using other wires, like TV and Camera might have worked even if they are thin. The ammeter at 12:19 reads around 70 milliamps, every cable in this room should handle that. 2. Your seggestion of using wet cloth, would also probably work. Same as for the thin cables the current requirement is so low here. 3. Maybe there is another solution. If the bathtub is not fixed to the ground, they could use the water in the bathtub to create a puddle on the floor in which they put the connectors, better place them right before, the water might intentionally be very dirty so it might have a good conductance. If its fixed to the ground they could use their cloth to get it out or spash it out. BTW, 70 milliamps is, depending if its alternating current or direct current, barely enough to kill a person, there is a chance to survive that if its AC, if its DC the chance to survive is even better. I admit that you could not know the resulting current beforehand so I would probably not try that as a first solution. Happy new Year from Germany ;)

If Strahm also went directly behind the closing box, he would have noticed a passage that extracts the box out. He just needed to slow down or block the closing with his shoes. The walls would have crushed the box with Hoffman inside while Strahm escaped through the passage, but he would be falsely accused to be Jigsaw's successor with Hoffman's death.
@sebastiancarreira58324 жыл бұрын
When I watched this movie with a friend a few years ago we came up with a way to win the blood jar trap as long as you have two people. The jar is in what it seems a cage with small openings everywhere around. What you could do is take of some clothing an make a small rope (you could help yourself to cut the clothings into a rope shape with the blades inside of the trap) that should be slightly longer than the width of the trap (so a sleeve should be enough). Then you put one end of the rope through the opening in the corner of the cage at the height of the top of the jar and hold one end. The other person should, using his fingers through each opening, move the other end from the corner it was placed to the other corner. After that, both have to move their ends using their fingers from the end of the cage to where the jar is until the rope is held at the top of the jar. Finally, both start moving the rope down so it starts applying pressure to the jar. As long as the rope is able to withstand the weight that has to be applied it should work.
@juliannolastname24424 жыл бұрын
Very very clever. Depends on if the door needs a constant current to keep it open. For example, the door is on springs that is held open by a constant piston, if the piston loses power it closes the door quickly. If this is the case, when they leave to go to the next room, the pressure will alleviate on the sensor, and the door will lose power, and it will shut. Otherwise, very smart.
@sebastiancarreira58324 жыл бұрын
@@juliannolastname2442 It would be hard but if the makeshift rope is flexible enough you could try tying it to the cage with enough tension to keep the pressure making sort of a triangle with both ends tied lower and the part that is pressuring the jar at the top.

I actually have a couple notes, primarily about the fifth trap and various fluids to add. First off, you wouldn’t necessarily even need to use a shoe, since you could simply lift up the claws that press the buttons and hold your hand in place. Since it’s like a Chinese finger trap, and only stops you from pulling out, but does not stop you from putting more material in, you could just lift it up with your fingers, maybe pee in it, maybe wrong out some clothes from the previous room’s bath water, but that wouldn’t work too well. However, as someone else mentioned, what would work is using Luba’s corpse from the previous room to add blood. Alternatively, you might be able to weigh it down with shrapnel or other bits of metal and stuff from that and other rooms, since there s a pretty decently sized hole for it, but that does risk jamming it up. Also the nail bombs were theorized to be C4. Now, what you might not know about C4 is that it is extremely stable, I mean, you can literally set it on fire and drop an anvil on it and it won’t go off (yes, that was actually tested, you can cook with C4), so if you know that (the fire inspector might, since she instantly recognized the nail bombs), then you close just tear the wires out to disarm every single one of them in ever single room. And honestly I may be an outlier, but through every Saw movie, anytime someone got a key for one lock, I did think that they should try it on the others, just in case, seeing as many locks have the exact same core as each other, so they’re a one-key-fits-all kind of thing. So at least for me personally it wouldn’t be unlikely that I’d think of it. Also the rubber around Strahm’s neck (which I only just learned about) could be pulled away by his hands, or the tubes could probably be removed all together, as they look just kinda shoved in. And for the final trap, I mean, honestly he had so many opportunities. Yeah the coffin looks like a trap, but last time not listening to this dude nearly killed him, if I were him, I’d either listen, just, y’know, leave? The door is still open, after all, or I’d just shoot Hoffman as soon as I got the chance which would have been very, very easy. Also as a general Saw trap note, just, so many can easily be beaten by just sitting still and waiting, not all of them, but if Jigsaw was real, and you knew about him, I mean, if I suddenly woke up in a trap or bathtub or something, I wouldn’t start thrashing every limb, I’d panic, yeah, I mean, who wouldn’t? But I would stay as still as humanly possible, just in case. If it was the bathtub that Adam was in, obviously I’d take my head out, but I’d also carefully survey everything I could see or feel to get an idea of what’s going on, since that solves a bunch. That was long and kinda nitpicky, but those were just the things I noticed or thought of. I dunno, hope this helps at least one person stuck in one of these traps.

@@GabeR115 not really. They could try but it likely would do nothing but shock them. Lastly, when the heart stops beating it is quite difficult to get blood out of the body. They could get some out, but not very much. Also, some people have said that the body would act like a capacitor and retain some of the electrical current for quite a while after the cables were removed (plus it would be very hot).

Great Video! Another possible solution for the last "wall trap": Jamming the gears clearly visible (at 15:50) at the back of the box with whatever he has on him (the gun / the recorder / his shoes / clothes. This is of course depending on the force the gears are turning with and if there is a gap to put the stuff in. But this way the box would stop lowering into the ground and would hopefully make Hoffman stop the contraption. If Hoffman can't stop it, Strahm could try to stay behind the box. This way, depending on how study the box is, the box could possibly stop the walls from closing any further and prevent him getting squished.

For the last trap strahm could’ve went under the coffin hoffman was being lowered into. It may have crushed his legs but there’s a way bigger chance of survival
@loganmorton15434 жыл бұрын
It depends on how large the space that the coffin got lowered into was

I would try jamming the gears by putting the gun between them. That way the coffin may block the walls from closing or Hoffman would also die.

You can’t unlock the leg chains by bending forward because the rower slicer is too close to his body.

By the looks of it you could squat since the shackles are chained with some links between his feet and table so its possible to undo them but that wouldnt probably happen since the collar on his neck would be too hard to get rid off

With the neck collar trap (6:45), after seeing that it’s pulling you back, you could assume that once the timer ends it’s would pull you back into the blades, by hiding under the blade, you could have the force if the wire pulling on you to cut the wire via bring on the blades.

Also - I think one of the reasons they had Strahm stab his neck is because he and Hoffman look CONFUSINGLY similar and it might have been difficult for audiences to keep up with who's-who without giving one an injury. As someone who personally struggles with face recognition, I really appreciated this 😅

In the nail bomb trap couldn’t they have just broken the glass and cause the nails to scatter all over the place and take out the dynamite

I saw someone else talk about the way the traps were supposed to be beat (the ones with the 5 people), so i'm just gonna reiterate what he said. For the first trap, as stated in the video, one person would have to get their key, unlock it, and then unlock everyone else's keeping everyone alive. For the second trap, they would basically do what he said in the video, and share the tubes. For the third trap (keep in mind all 5 people are still alive) all they would have to do is connect one cord to each person, and then touch the water so that they each would receive a shock that isn't life threatening. For the final trap, all five of them would cut their hand so that way they would each only have to give a small amount of blood to fill the jar.
@Levyafan3 жыл бұрын
In other words, it's a trap that would've been beaten a lot less painfully and lethally if the victims acted more altruistically. Which, I suppose, is the very point of it: all the victims were egotistical and put themselves in front of anyone else, which, ironically, left them worse off than if they gave even a minute consideration of working together.

@Aragorn137004 жыл бұрын
There is another way to beat the glass coffin trap. Strahm could try to block the gears that lower the coffin with his gun, so it wouldn't be lowered further. The coffin would either block the walls from closing oder Hoffman would stop the trap so that he doesn't get crushed also.

The craziest thing about the fatal five traps is I feel like if they brought the dead body from the previous trap to the new trap. It would’ve helped them. They could’ve used the dead bodies on the bath tub trap and the pint measurement trap
