Hwoarang put a lot of responsabilites on his opponents. He forces you to pick him several times in training mode to understand him and counter him. Plus this character has strong wall carry AND Okizeme and can destroy you in two times. If you master Just Frame Skyrocket (which is now safe) in combinaison with Backlash, he becomes low risk/high reward without using the famous d3 ,4. But I let Peter covers that since he has well started this topic.

Just frame sky rocket was never unsafe, sure it was -10 but it has a push back that no one in the game were able to punish it except for gigas.

One of the things that get me killed against Hwo is how moves with similar animations have different frames on block (I don't always notice if he went into stance or not). Excellent video, looking forward to the next one. Also as a side note, uf4,4,4 is a prime example of why you should block lows with db and not simply hold down.

While I still don't like fighting Hwoarang, he's given me a lot less trouble lately. A big reason why is because I realized the vast majority of the mash happy Hwoarangs I come across don't seem to know what to do when you're patient. A lot of them will give you stuff to punish if you just hold your water and keep on the move. Being subbed to K-Wiss' channel also really helps. Hwoarang is good, but not nearly as overpowered as many think he is. Also, I want those Naruto statues behind Peter, but I've neither the money nor space for them.

Thanks for the comment Melvin. Yeah it can be hard to fight against a good Hwo cause they will notice that you aren't doing much and they will start to mix in things. b1+4 is a very evasive move that gives a guaranteed f1+4 (and a couple other moves too) on hit. Basically, AK takes a big step back and also a bit towards the right, so its like he sidesteps and backdashes at the same time. Be wary with using this move though, as it is very punishable if blocked or whiffed. Hope this helps.

This whole time I thought I was just missing my timing on the low of that hopping string. A lowcrushing move that has an unparriable +ob low, or heavily + on hit? It sounds absolutely absurd. How can they justify a move like this existing?

Use more jabs to deal with this, or be out of range, or even sidewalk it. It's quite a slow attack so jabs are great at dealing with it. This is why players in the higher ranks / pros do not use this attack.

Saying and doing in training is easy. It's hard in combat. This character is one of the cheat characters in this game. His attacks seem to be very flexible and overly stylish. And at the same time, he can continue his combinations of attacks as he likes, interrupting his previous combination in a matter of seconds. I have this character in 2 categories: 1) easy to control 2) with very strong attacks that in real life will be very weak. It's a pity that Tekken developers know how to make normal fighters through mysticism in the game. At a time when Mortal Kombat found their chip and make a lot of money on it despite the meat grinder. Ask why? because they don't downplay some of their characters in terms of power and combos. Since they make an ordinary fighter strong and thoughtful, let others be strong and thoughtful. It is not surprising that Mortal Kombat is many times more popular.
