I have a theory that probably won’t work but maybe theoretically could… You skip bowser capture by leaving him behind, doing some jumps up to the first wall you would have to destroy. If a clip is found for this wall you could skip every wall. Then there are invisible platforms outside the 2d area that you can stand on. If you leap to the pipe to the 2d area, stand on top of it, and do the three jumps, you can pass the 2d area. Then you clip through the walls again and you are in the final area. If you could find a glitch to get outside of the golden area or at least far enough you could get the cutscene and skip bowser. Just a thought that probably won’t work.

@@ilovet5926 in addition to what other people said, it's not that air poisons fish, it's that their gills aren't made to breathe air efficiently. Underwater, their gills can spread out and get a ton of surface area exposed to the water, but on air, their gills collapse and aren't fully exposed. So they actually can absorb some of the oxygen from air, but it's not enough compared to water, so they can't get enough oxygen and they suffocate.

He did this run and did this commentary, I don't know how many times, starting a new run, with full tutorial commentary every time, whenever things went bad. He did that several times in a row, before encountering technical difficulties, and deciding to do it off screen. That was actually quite some time ago now, and so I wouldn't be surprised if, rather than being edited, that this was just like, his 15th or 20th take of the same run. So it's most likely just a single take, but just rehearsed like crazy. Which is also why his gameplay is so good.

Have you ever tried doing a run where you switch the controllers, so your feet are controlling mario and your hands control cappy? Not impossible to get it like that with a voiceover, but really hard to make it feel so natural.
