Have you seen the clip where Dragonite gets poisoned by Dire Claw, activates its Lum Berry, and then gets poisoned again because of Poison Touch 😭😭

I EV'd my Gholdengo to live a throat chop from Sneasler then I got OHKO'd by Fling with Big Nugget which is apparently 130 BP. I had to put the gameboy down after that one.

Gholdengo doesn't die ffom a throat chop though😅

I'm starting to see Dual Wingbeat Talonflame just to beat sash variants immediately
@nerdyfalco408Ай бұрын
I remember a similar thing happening in SS when dual wingbeat just got out. Everybody started running dual wingbeat talonflame to oneshot focus sash whimsicott which was everywhere. The first match I tried it on showdown with a random team, I faced a max hp whimsicott which resisted at like 3 hp and set up tailwind anyway. I forfeited.

What do you do when you get dire claw slept/para'd? You only beat Sneasler 80% of the time

My go-to answer against Sneasler is Galarian Weezing w/ Misty Surge. I'm honestly a bit surprised not more people are running the Misty Surge set since it beats Sneasler and its partners.

@@Zylefer it doesn’t do much else
@ZyleferАй бұрын
@@michaelkarim57 That's fair to think. I find good value out of my set with Tera Fairy Choice Specs Dazzling Gleam for good damage, Overheat to deal with steel types, Sludge Bomb to deal with Rillaboom, and Clear Smog to deal with Dondozo
@Savings_and_Grift_PlanАй бұрын
Some people have been running Unaware Clefable with manual misty terrain as well.
@michaelkarim57Ай бұрын
@@Zylefer it doesn’t do any of those particularly well, Gholdengo and Arch are going to take you out before you move, AV Gambit destroys it(SD loses but it’s a bit commitment), Dondozo EQ blows it up, and Rillaboom isn’t the hardest thing to counter as its counters are very splashable(steels, incin, sneasler etc)

One thing I’ve done for Sneasler was use Quash Sableye paired with support Volcarona Regardless of what set Sneasler runs it can’t kill Sableye in one hit if screens are up and when Volcarona is on the field it has to respect the burn chance that comes with all of its attacks being contact. Usually they’ll fake out Volcarona turn 1 so they risk a 30% burn, but if they didn’t get burned, quash wisp forces them to act last making Volcarona have another chances to burn with wisp the following turn. For anyone curious, the odds that a Sneasler will get burned from flame body or wisp in these 2 turns is 89.5%, which is much more consistent. A burnt Sneasler is effectively just fishing for status and with screens Sableye you can freely set up as it can’t touch you, especially a burn Sneasler. 252+ Atk Sneasler Dire Claw vs. 252 HP / 60 Def Sableye: 44-52 (28 - 33.1%) -- 95.3% chance to 4HKO after Grassy Terrain recovery With screens Sneasler has to rely on poison to even gain progress 252+ Atk Sneasler Dire Claw vs. 252 HP / 60 Def Sableye through Reflect: 22-26 (14 - 16.5%) -- possible 9HKO And because Sableye has stab Foul Play it is chunking for massive damage against it. 252+ Atk Sableye Foul Play vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Sneasler: 67-79 (42.9 - 50.6%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Grassy Terrain recovery This strat I’m using wasn’t even intended to beat Sneasler, it was actually intended for Garchomp but because so many of the current threats in the format are physical attackers it ends up being a really good answer to a lot of sets like Dragonite, Garchomp, Dragapult, Dondozo, etc.
@viralzone2177Ай бұрын
my favourite sneasler check so far has been ghost tera garganacl, salt cure + ghost curse forces the sneasler to either pivot and lose the seed unburden boost or they don't get it altogether if they're sashed
@viralzone2177Ай бұрын
ribombee is my tailwind setter on that team which is also super nice cause it's naturally immune to dire claw's effects

One word answer to beat sneasler: gholdengo (unless sneasler is running throat chop, which I'd definitely take over fake out/coaching

I am kinda interested, I realized while at work that espathra, having been banned so early in ou, was never brought up anywhere else, vgc or otherwise. Speed boost stored power is a hell of a set. Speed boost expanding force may be crazier.
@ShimahouАй бұрын
It had its heyday in pre-paradox, pre-DLC times, but power creep was unkind to it. Its frailty makes it difficult to stack boosts for Stored Power, and Lumina Crash is outclassed by Fake Tears Whimsicott in most situations. Although, there was a brief time where Espathra with Hypnosis worked well next to Sandy Shocks with Gravity. Maybe you can get some ideas from there.
