Another really good card vs. them is Evenly Matched. Basically the same reasoning as Mystic Mine, they have very little answers on the board to contest that card and will often be flatened by it.

Silent graveyard is a great side deck card, since you can chain it to the activations of all the mills to disrupt the fusions.

You can also use it on your turn to prevent turn 0 winda/caliga/dragostepellia to make sure you got 2s on board to extend with splight 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻

Ghost Ogre on the Tearlament cards themselves is pretty bad, but on the typical end board it can actually be sneakily good as it can prevent the negation from Dragostapelia or shut down Redoer. Obviously it's not ideal, but if you're considering whether or not to main Ghost Ogre for the format, it's something to consider IMO.

As per usual masterful, Tom I hope both these guides show and the coming results show, both new decks as really good, seemingly Swordsoul got taken out back, until we see it show up more, but the format feels non oppressive as many forcast. Really hope to see a lot of diversity as we get deeper into the format. :)

I've also been testing denko sekka. Really underrated right now, but will shut down the tear traps/whatever else may be in back row. (As long as you don't need your normal summon.) And it has uses vs mathmech, exosister, dinomorphia etc.

One other thing, it's also very difficult to imperm kitkallos simply because mask change 2 into dark law is starting to gain a lot more popular at least in the circles im in, and if you imperm they'll simply send kit off for dark law, while searching and milling 5. Therefore I'd recommend just imperming the reinoheart since it's a water and the tear player cannot use reino as a target for dark law.

yes but they can still do the same play by going into Acid which is ran since it is a HFD that can be chain blocked by Reinoheart

Ghost Ogre and Gamma still work vs the deck, Ogre vs Dragostapelia and Millenium-Eyes stops both cards' negates and also prevents Time Thief Redoer from detaching for effect. Gamma works vs their dump with Reinoheart, you can negate that monster from Fusion Summoning. Contact "C" is really good vs Branded Tearlaments.

I would also say that Soul Drain is a high impact card to counter the deck since the tear’s effects can’t activate in the gy like Abyss

Yeah only downside is you have to go first for Soul Drain to be relevant.

So, drnm lite, booking spright, tear, punk, math is an easy out to established boards as well as spright dropping iblee. Excessive testing this weekend and found book of eclipse is bonkers, 1-2 draws don't bother your established boards going first if they played through several interrupts, hard to make connections leading to end boards for several tier 1 decks, and for tear you just book their end board during your standby, clear field, they don't draw and you have ability for clear otk. Cards good for go first or second and allows you to side drnm for when forced to go second.

Soul Drain is reciprocal so it will also prevent your banished Floonders from activating to return to hand. But if you’re alright with this drawback, it will indeed largely shut them down.
