I think Ray really made progress with his 3rd family in the sequel, Fractured 2: Manchester By The Sea. His actions only led to the horrible deaths of his kids in that one, while his wife actually survived. I feel like he’s learning. When he gets married for the 4th time, there’s a decent chance he doesn’t kill anyone in his family.

There is no way in hell as a parent, I would just let my child roam around as my husband was looking for a toy. Let’s be honest, I would be toy searching, kiddo would be crawling all over the backseat, and hubby in the drivers seat. Situation does not exist 🤷🏼‍♀️ Edited to add: The American Healthcare system will not miss a beat to charge for any services rendered. There would be no missing footage. The restrictions of loved ones with imaging is a thing. My husband is going through cancer treatment and whenever he gets CT, MRI or PET scans I can sit in the main waiting room with him until they call him, then he’s taken to a secondary waiting room only patients can be in. It’s partially due to caution, yes, but mainly so as not to overcrowd waiting areas because scans can take a while and the wait time can be long. They want free spaces for actual patients. FWIW my husband usually takes about 90 minutes to two hours to be done with his scans so the wait time in the movie isn’t necessarily that strange. It depends on things like wait time, if contrast is needed, if anything needs redoing and the type of CT scan being done.
@jameson1239
@jameson1239 Жыл бұрын
Also a lot of scans use radioactive tracers meaning the patient can be radioactive for a while before and after
@RightsForZombies

@@jameson1239 Exactly. My husband has to have contrast scans constantly. It takes time to intravenously inject the dye, then after the scan they keep you 10-15 minutes to ensure you don’t have a reaction. It’s easy to underestimate how long scans can take.

@LifeisaHorrorMovie
@LifeisaHorrorMovie Жыл бұрын
Long story long, Ray was a serial family annihilator who got away the first time, perhaps through a legal loophole due, in part, because of a delusional disorder/insanity defense. He was good at compartmentalizing his actions from the trauma that they inflicted on those closest to him, he tucked them away neatly in the deepest recesses of his troubled mind. But when he got a second chance... Life was not going to be as generous or forgiving. No do-overs. In his (generously) begotten second chance... it was only after he suffered the skull fracture from the literal (and metaphorical) fall with his new family, that something in his broken brain was "set right" again, bringing him back in touch with reality.. and how uncannily similar it was to the past his mind had done so well to help him forget. He had killed them all. Again. It was much too much to take, the fracture mirrored his fragmented reality, that is, until it healed little by little, opening his eyes, destroying his world of smoke and mirrors. He killed everyone that ever loved him, over and over, and each time he believed it was not his fault.. it was always something else, or someone else.. some external force, some big medical conspiracy, perhaps even the government was in on it. In the mind of a delusional narcissist, the world is always out to get them. It's never their fault. Best be destroyed by the cold harsh wind of reality blowing through the cracks of a fractured mind, than to stay alive swimming in circles under the warm blanket of willful oblivion.

I work in a hospital and no I’m not a doctor. From what I see here, when It comes to children they let both parents accompany the youth throughout the entire hospital visit. Only during surgeries they will restrict parents from the OR. But almost all OR rooms have a theatre where parents or loved ones can look through a window, or view the procedure on a monitor. I work in the ER and the OR and have witnessed this first hand at my local university hospital.
@heathermillsphantomlimb9314
@heathermillsphantomlimb9314 8 ай бұрын
Teaching hospitals may allow that. But, I’ve worked in quite a few OR’s, and I’ve never seen theatres parents can watch procedures through or monitors, specifically in the case that they’ll make a scene if they think the doctors or nurses are doing something to their child that doesn’t have to be done. They typically just have the parents wait outside. Would you want to watch your kid get cut open or get pieces of their body removed? Doubtful. They’ll allow fathers to be present during C-Sections or natural births and will let them accompany the child up to prep (when they give them anesthesia), but most don’t want parents in the OR getting in the way or trying to bark orders at staff.

The entire film could have been avoided with him not being an idiot at the start, then the hospital doing its job and having him restrained due to a possible brain injury from the accident he came in for. I mean for gods sake either he was talking to a family that wasn't there which is a huge red flag, or he's just passed out in your waiting room for no reason as he was on his own, then woke up acting crazy, which is another huge red flag.

I know it makes sense to do the How To Beats on Newer Movies, but I’d really like to see a How To Beat - Silver Bullet. It’s my personal opinion but I think Silver Bullet is the best Werewolf movie of all time… Everett McGill is such an underrated actor. He’s pretty much the reason I stopped going to A Catholic Church because I was terrified of him in the movie…. For any fan of monster movies that hasn’t seen it, it’s a must watch. 1 of Gary Busey’s best films before he went crazy, and before Corey Haim got type casted with the other Corey Creep… It’s based on a Stephen King novel and the dramatic music sets the tone the entire time… Although the Werewolf when he turns all the way is kind of cheesy, I think the turning in to the werewolf scene is better then the howling’s and the turning back from werewolf to human is the best to this day…. The last thing that made the movie was the narrative angle from one of the characters that lived through it all is super creepy… If The People Under the stairs didn’t have the racism in it I’d say that would be a great movie to do one on…, Another awesome Everett McGill movie….

what you might call a "hospital nerd" here! traditionally, no one but the patient and medical professional/s are allowed in the room during most varieties of medical scans. in fact, if the patient is having a scan that involves radiation (like, well, a CT) only one person is meant to be in the room while the actual test is taking place - the patient. medical professional/s (generally nurses) will leave to conduct the scan from an entirely separate room connected to the main one so they aren't exposed to the healthy dose of radiation the machines give off. they will communicate with the patient through a speaker. that being said - there ARE instances where parents will be allowed in the room during scans. for example, i have very severe anxiety that is thankfully a little easier to manage now, but it was much worse as a teenager, to the point if my parents were too far away i would have a panic attack. during many scans i had in that time period, BOTH of my parents were allowed in the room. hospitals/care centers will keep radiation blocking vests stocked in the room for people other than the patient or a medical professional to wear during a scan if need be. i had either a CT or x-ray at one point during my lengthy medical treatment history where both of my parents were present because of my anxiety, and i wasn't a little kid - i was a teenager, at least 13. considering when i had said scan would have had to be around 2013 or 2014 and this movie takes place in at least 2014, odds are high that both parents would be allowed to be present during the CT. i'm assuming because everything was a hallucination that that's why ray wasn't allowed to come with for the scan, but he absolutely would have been allowed to. especially if it was pre-covid. and even if he wouldn't have been allowed in the room, there's a 99.9% chance they would have at least let him stand outside of the room.

I once feel of a Ladder onto my back and head on concrete at a work site. Fall was about 3 to 4 meters and i felt that bitch for weeks. I got extremely lucky thou and just had a minor Concussion and bruised back. But there was absolutely no chance i would have driven a car in the days afterwards. Even just a change in light intensitity caused me severe headaches. No way this guy would have made it to the hospital even with adrenaline.

I have SCD, but I’m pretty sure if the little girl is a minor at least one parent can go back with the girl but some hospital will allow 2 parents and also a CT scan usually take 10-15 mins not a hour

So did Ray start on family 2 before family 1 died? Because in 2019 that girl was 7ish years old. For him to have a 7-year-old 8 years after his first wife and child died that means his second wife already had to be pregnant with her.

They really gave this one away at the start. I remember watching it and the jarring turn from him being how he was before the head injury to how he was after. I even remember hoping this all wasn't in his head but actually forgetting about it for a good chunk of the movie since I got sucked in. Don't think i've ever rolled my eyes as hard as when it was revealed. Wasn't sure if they should have done a better job at hiding this or what but really just killed most of the movie for me.

I got "lost" in a hospital before. Aka some one screwed up with my discharge which led to them having no idea who I was with no record. It took hours and hours before they let me go, as they had no idea who I was. Pissed me the hell of, we got shit healthcare in this country. What is much more scary then this film, is most hospitals are going to be filled with overworked staff that are incompetent and can give two shits about you or your loved ones well being. OOooooo SCARRYYY!..!..!

Sadly enough hospitals do that. They will limit one parent to go with the child while they other one stays back. Specially with x-rays, since being exposed to it without the need is occasionally not good. So yes this policy does exist.

Without watching it yet, I'm predicting that there's a twist where the guy crashed the car, killing his wife and child and that the rest of the film is his brain being damaged or "fractured"
