Small inaccuracy here, it is NEVER advised to attempt to neutralize acid that is spilled on someone. The correct option is to wash with copious amounts of water, as a base strong enough to quickly neutralize HCl quickly would burn you, and generate tons of heat from the neutralization reaction.
@ThatSmashGuy2 жыл бұрын
Well it depends on the situation, if some spills on you, then the water will dilute it but it will also spread it, and shaking it off and leaving it just melt some of you might be better, honestly it's just your choice, do you want a deeper wound with less pain or a lighter wound with more pain.
@SMEGMA420692 жыл бұрын
@@ThatSmashGuy no it's not really situational..... you wash with LOTS of water to remove the acid, leaving it and letting it burn you is just wrong and a great way to need a skin graft. First thing we teach gen chem students in the lab is to always address chemical burns IMMEDIATLY, leaving it alone is one of the worst things your can do. The few exceptions are acids like HF where water won't really help, or if the spilled chemical is water reactive. In these cases the person handling the compound will have received training on how to deal with these especially tricky spills.

We need to challenge moviemakers to make a zombie movie with smart protagonists. Contrive how the zombies become the apocalyptic threat however, but make the main characters do all the smart things we expect and only be forced to move by bad luck or something. I dunno, just would be nice to be surprised by smart characters. Especially if they survive because of their level-headed thinking rather than plot armor and dumb luck.

I guess All of us are Dead did a pretty good job of that for the most part. Military was competent. The zombies didn't just grab people to bite them but literally lunged into people to bite them. Actually using doors and shoving zombies away worked for the most part. Really the few dumb moments involved characters failing to take full advantage of certain characters who are half infected or caused by someone they trusted lying to their face (like that teacher in episode 2 telling the students off for daring to think he was bitten until it was too late).
@Cheshire0202 жыл бұрын
Honestly, holding out till help arrives probably wouldn't be too difficult. The zombie-acid-rain seems to be fairly localized, so once it clears up the entirety of the national guard would probably come rolling in. Unless the government decides to nuke the area. It depends on if the intelligence of our main characters is considered the norm in that world.

I love hearing you talk about proper procedures and how following them could have actually helped. I work in an industrial place where stuff like that is very important. We aren't going to create zombies accidentally or anything like that but we could definitely make big environmental messes and following procedures can help prevent that and mitigate issues if something crazy does happen. It's just cool to hear somebody who either has to follow these procedures or has at least done some research about it talk about it in the context of silly movies like this. The only thing I would add is that the person's first call would likely be to someone who specifically deals with environmental stuff and then that person would immediately begin making the calls to the right people and mobilizing cleanup efforts. Especially if it's a large operation which this one seems to be as it's attached to the military stuff. Either way, awesome video and stuff like this is why I consider this channel to be the best of the How To Beat genre!

Having played alot of resident evil my first instinct is grabbing that damn tarp and getting any friends and survivors to a bus or something or a separate building not before looting the damn armory since these cops are more useless than the ones in raccoon city (no im not mentioning that small town in texas for a massive crap ton of reasons) board and barricade the building since the bus will melt. And have enough food and water. 2nd step since probably raiding the armory was a good idea (since that cop at the range has the aim of a storm trooper) and the tarps still good id see if i would have some flares as i have someone work on getting the comms up and running. If the comms cant be fixed and i have flares that might be a good idea to get the militaries attention but that might also attract the melting undead. If things were perfect the the comms were fixed instead and i had say 2 flares id save that for a light source when evacuation comes and the power is knocked out and also to still get someones attention. While that is going on the building will be checked and secured until help comes. Now for the assault from the horde, give every able-bodied friend and fellow survivor a firearm if they know how to work and go for headshots with em good if not ill give em a knife or blunt force object like a baton the less friendly fire incidents that can happen the better. Once all that happens hold out wait for the rain to stop proceed to higher ground the roof most likely and toss a flare up there without touching the remaining acid pools, get someones attention once help arrives and should the infected break in put on a surpressing fire and get out on the possible police or military helicopter to safety if anyones infected? No chances bullet to the brain man cant allow this crap to break out.
