As someone who worked in a corn maze, I have one major gripe with this movie: Corn leaves fucking hurt. They cut you like nobody’s business, even if you’re just in there for a bit. Doing anything other than casually going through it will get you cut. And, here’s the kicker, corn has major oils on its leaves. You get cut by one of those things, and it stings like hell because of the oil on the leaves. Corn mazes also cultivate a very special kind of mushroom which is only found in corn mazes. In peak season, the stuff is all over the place. I’m not exactly sure if you can do anything with them, but it’s worth noting that I see none in this movie.

There was a film called Cube similar to this. Randoms wake up alone in cube shaped rooms. Some are death traps, and some are safe. Each person was picked because they had a necessary skill set to navigate, like an architect who worked on part of the structure or math major to decipher the clues to determine safe rooms or skills needed to keep the group together, like a cop for leadership or a psychiatrist to tend to the group's mental health. However, each was also selected due to a flaw. The cop was violent and had a thing for young girls. The math expert was just a high-school girl, and prone to be emotional, the shrink was a conspiracy nut. So each had a needed skill, but each had a flaw that could tear the group apart.

The key to quicksand is to realize quicksand isn't a thing. There isn't a combination of sand+water that makes you sink, you'll either be able to climb out or float/swim out. Did no one see that episode of Mythbusters?
@gabrielbernard5440 Жыл бұрын
Now if you have corn or in generall grains that will act like quick sand, then you are dead. Still kills a couple of people a year who should know better than to walk on top of grains in a container or silo without safety gear and stabile footing put on it.. You will be gone so fast you will not even realise what has happened and be crushed by the weight of the grains around you. Grains shift like sand, but if it gets wet, it will stick together, but the grain below that plate will shift, and sink lower(while that little wetness, with the little stickiness will keep the grains in place, for now), and there will a pocket of nothingness under the glued together grain( that seems as if it is stable). Looks no different to normal grain, except when you step on it...one step, nothing, two steps, it crumbles and you fall into the hollow below while an avalance of tons of corn falls down on you...even if they could get you out in the next few seconds, the weight of the corn would have crushed you already. The adhesion caused by residual moisture, will break down in an instant and all that corn that held itself together like a very brittle cluster of crumbs, gets loose. It is amazing, and deathly. No warning, nothing, you will be burried in grains before your ears can register the noise of thunder that comes from the tumbling grain. Same happens on dunes where plant matter like dead trees have rotted away and caused a brittle hollow, only held up by the residue of moisture in the sand, some plant roots and the rotten down tree matter. And if you step on it, it will break, you will fall and all that sand falls on top of you and you are dead. That is true quick sand. If you(or rather someone else) are lucky, a body part of you sticks out or someone saw you vanish, otherwise your body will stay there and rot and be the cause of the next quick sand event when you are broken down enough
