However, if they start to call every name like the video suggested it, they most likely end up more demonic energy because of the present demon's power and tie to others and Hell. If there is a demonic presence in the place (and a strong one), demons tend to respond their name. So knowing a demons name is really a double--edged sword because of the unwanted attention if it chooses to use the power of the name for itself.

The thing that always sticks out in my mind is from The Exorcist when Fr. Karras says, "I could detect three distinctive voices in the recording." Fr. Mirren replies, "No. There is only one." This was a subtle callback to the Biblical story of when Christ exorcized the possessed man and put the unholy spirit into the drift of pigs. The spirit said, "We are Legion, for we are many." Christ knew better and could see through the lie. The truth, if one believes the story, that Christ inherently knew that there are no demons or devils or imps and that Lucifer is all alone and only pretends to be among an army of minions to cope with the knowledge that he, alone, is the only angel cast from heaven. He alone was the possessing spirit and that there is no other. When I watch possession movies I keep in mind that there is no Pazuzu or Beelzebub or Appollyon and that it is only one massively schizophrenic unholy being. It makes it much creepier when you see him open a drawer and Fr. Karras says, "Did you do that? Do it again." "In time." "No. Right now." "In time." Lucifer doesn't need faith. He feeds on a lack of faith. Karras was losing faith, Reagan MacNeil never had faith. Chris MacNeil was an atheist. Food for thought...

it sounds good on paper, but remember when you call a demons name in this particular context, you are creating a link with them and you could be summoning them into the realm thus making everything harder for yourself. this is why it is incredibly important to conduct research to narrow down your list of suspects vs the throw everything at it and see what sticks. not to mention it could be as simple as the demon being insulted you would refer to it as one lesser then itself thus becoming enraged.

It isn't "thou shalt not kill". The correct translation is "thou shalt not murder" or "thou shalt not lie in wait". Because if Christians couldn't kill, by that logic, we cannot imbibe in meats in meals or take part in the military. I know it's not much of an argument, but "thou shalt not kill" is meant to be broken down logically. And the Bible is much simpler to understand than having to break things down. Generally, it means what it says. I may be wrong, but this makes more sense.

Thou shalt not kill applies to human life not animals. That’s why it’s also referred to as “thou shall not commit murder”. And why it’s not against the 10 commandments to kill animals (for consumption). Although he did order to have the pig killed for no reason (which is considered quite arbitrary) that doesn’t seem to go against that specific commandment. What it does go against is not abusing or mistreating animals. If the meat was used for a meal after the pig was killed then it’s “morally” not wrong. Also even if they tied him up he probably could’ve untied himself. He’s shown to be telekinetic when he moves the crucifix.

Not that I am pro pig-shooting or anything, I'm just saying that the ancient Israelites had very frequent animal sacrifices for cleansing rituals, so clearly killing animals was allowed, though there were rules on how to go about it properly.
