Years ago our neighbor invited us to a "Blahs" party at her house with our other neighbors and none of us knew what that meant. She said it was a "winter blahs" party and she served several different soups and bread and we played board games at different tables. We laughed so hard and had the best time that night! Nothing like a bowl of warm soup on a cold winter night. We had an absolute blast!

My self care may be a little extreme for some people. But I go spend one day and night in a hotel. To me it is so therapeutic. I take some snacks, my crochet and books. I get there and don’t see a soul except for door dash person in the evening. I love it I’m in my pjs just relaxing no loud tv or anyone around me. I take a very hot long bath and relax also. I have no noise in my head when I’m there. I have a beautiful home and a beautiful family but sometimes I just need a break from everyone. When I go home it’s like I’m so much more rejuvenated and ready to do the things I need to do. My husband sometimes comes and stays overnight but really kicks against it but it’s fine if I’m just alone I love it. It’s just me, myself and I. There’s just something about being there about once a months that just makes me feel well and happy❤

Sounds lovely! That is how Introverts "recharge" their batteries... Back in the day, I would go away for 2 nights with my Quilting Group to a cabin on a lake...we would sew in our pajamas all day, nibble, walks, drink wine.... and oh yes, Sew!

For me, winter brings anxiety. I often get panicky, like something bad is about to happen. I don't get depressed, I have a pretty good reserve of energy most of the time, it's just those thoughts that drive me bonkers. I have a very large assortment of plants. Plants are proof that life remains and will return in the spring. Grow lights help me see progress, and that makes me happy! Once in a while, one of my orchids will surprise me with a bloom stem, that's always a welcome happenstance. My belief is: If you find something that brings you joy, like growing plants or knitting, watching KZbin, or whatever, then go "all in." Dig in. Learn, embrace, enjoy. Lean into what you have discovered that makes you happy and brings you peace.

I take some “me” time to read to for pleasure and devotionals, use shower steamers to elevate simple nightly showers, watch KZbin videos such as yours that are encouraging, using great smelling candles/Scentsy/Wallflowers, and other things. Sometimes the little things and taking even ten minutes here and there help so much. I’ve also started putting on relaxing music from KZbin while I do housework or cook. I also have battery lights and candles on timers that come on in the afternoons for added cozy vibes. Anything to keep the mood cozy and positive in our home. It helps with any weather moods. Lol!

I lived in Ohio and know what gloomy days are. We moved to Georgia. The weather is way better here. We do have the occasional gloomy day. But the sun shines way more here. And I’m happy for that. I don’t like cold weather. I’m ready for the 90 degree days. And it’s going to be really cold here the next few days, or night. But I do notice that the days are getting a little longer. And I’m happy for that too. I don’t use light therapy. I just turn a lot of lights in my house on. I did that today, because it was gloomy here. And when it is I don’t do much. I just ordered some workout clothes so I can exercise. I’m hoping that will motivate me to move more. I don’t do as much as I should. I’m always on the sofa with a blanket all day. We still have dandelions that are alive in our backyard. It just snowed here. And they’re still there.

Great tips, Tiffany! I always say I get “sad” in winter, especially after Christmas. The first part of late autumn and early winter I’m busy preparing for all the festivities and enjoying every moment… then, just like that, they are over. Working out and preparing my week helps me stay on track and forces me to “do the things” I could easily stop in winter. Your natural light suggestion also helps me- one of the first things I do in the morning - I open up all the curtains or blinds.🩷
