@MHTutorials3D6 жыл бұрын
You don't have to learn how to draw if you don't have time but at least learn the principles and techniques in theory

thank you so much !! How long it will take to become good and earn money from 3D modelling ? With 0 draw skills
@MHTutorials3D5 жыл бұрын
That depends on how much money. You might earn your first $ 10 after just a month or two but making money fulltime can take ( many ) years
@chillaxman26255 жыл бұрын
Mike Hermes thanks for your honesty! so after 3-4- years with hard practice , will I become a pro and I can create most 3D models easily? sorry ,im just new to this and I wanna decide for my future. thank you agin
@MHTutorials3D5 жыл бұрын
@@chillaxman2625 It is good that you give this a lot of thought. How long someone works on it is just one part of it. After this time your work has to be good too :-) Can it be done ? Yes, it can and thousands have. Is it easy ? Oh no, it is not. It is very, very hard work and very uncertain. But if you make it, it is awesome !

Hi my name is Grecia and I have one question. I want to be a 3d character modeler but I am a little confused in what degree I should choose. Should I get a degree in Graphic Design B.F.A or an Art, Concentration in Animation/Illustration, B.F.A.? I would really appreciate it if you could help me understand which degree is best to become a 3d character modeler.
@MHTutorials3D5 жыл бұрын
Hi Grecia, Graphic Design is usually something very different than 3D. Depending on your wishes I guess BFA would be a better choice

Hi. I'd like yo ask for an advise. I'll like to be a 3D character modeler ( i like Final Fantasy a lot, that's my inspiration. Also, love that photorealistic finishing in 3D) but i don't know what degree should i choose. I'm between Industrial design or Plastic Arts. Even computer science or graphic design but i really don't know. (Where i live there are not degrees in animation or 3D). Which one would be helpful? Sorry if my grammar is not correct. Spanish is my first language. TY

I had a similar situation. Was aiming for character art in games, couldn't study that in my country. Went to a traditional fine arts academy to study sculpture. I think that's a pretty solid option if you are really into character art. I am now working in the field of smaller games, and I think studies helped with understanding fundamentals - drawing, sculpting, anatomy in specific is what you should focus the most there, if you choose this route. You will learn 3d packages in your free time/later, that's not important really. Would advise against choosing any of the specs you listed (not sure what plastic art is tho, if it's sculpture related then maybe it's ok)

@it's_ Ruchith well, generally depression and aspiration combined really, some days i'm depressed accomplishing nothing, some days when i get some results i feel awesome, the key thing i learned is keep at it, it may not happen today but it certainly will tomorrow. Speaking from experience.

Almost every poly modelling software works for game assets.
@nishantgupta26116 жыл бұрын
OctaneCalamity ok.. but there are some or many industries which requires specific software's knowledge/skills.
@TheMASTERFURIOUS6 жыл бұрын
I think most industries mainly use software like Maya (for either animation, modeling assets) and 3dsMax. Some others like Modo, Cinema4D
