Hi Erik! First of all, thank you for taking the time to create this youtube channel. I would love to get some feedback or enlightenment on what programs might be out there that will help those who don't have any "real world" experience in the clinical research field. I recently graduated with a Masters in Biomedical Science and would like to enter the clinical research field. I have done my homework and came across a program with ccrps.org that provides a CRA training program and I know Medpace also provides CRA training. (Although I'm sure its really competitive to get hired with Medpace since I believe its the only CRO out there that is willing to provide training to the non-experienced, like myself) Do you know if these programs are a great way to gain certification, are reputable training programs, and will help with landing a place within the clinical research field?

Hi Adriana, thank you for your comment. Since this is a new channel, and since you are the first to ask for advice, I would like to do something special for you. I would like to help guide you in this venture of becoming a CRA. First of all, the accreditations that are available are not necessarily needed in becoming a CRA. They can sometimes help in giving you a competitive advantage but not every employer will care about that certificate/training. They are more interested in work experience. I can tell you right away, that you will not be able to become a CRA with zero experience in clinical research. Having that certificate will not be enough to get hired as a CRA. There are 2 paths you can take, 1 would be to work as a CRC at a site and the other would be to work as a CTA at a sponsor. Both of these paths can lead you to being a CRA. Being a CTA could be the more direct path of becoming a CRA but it depends on the company and how they utilize the CTA role.
