You get 3 attempts for each exam. This means 3 attempts to pass AFK, 3 to pass ACJ, 3 to pass ACS and 3 to pass each of the board exams. At any point, if you exhaust your three attempts to pass an exam, then, unfortunately, that will be the end of your dental equivalency process journey. dentist, dental hygienist, dental assistant, all these are regulated professions and require a license/certification. If you are already a BDS dentist in your home country, we would recommend giving the dental equivalency process a shot and continue practicing your profession - dentistry in Canada. It is a difficult process but it is possible to clear it and in the end practice as a dentist in Canada.

Which option is better going through the equivalency process or getting into the advance placement program? And is it difficult to get into the univerisity?
@PrepDoctors5 жыл бұрын
That is entirely your choice doctor. Different factors to take into consideration while making that decision are: 1. The time involved in going to a university vs taking the equivalency route. 2. The difference of costs in both the process. 3. There are very few universities in Canada offering the IDAP program, so the odds of getting a spot in the university. 4. Prior work experience as a dentist 5. Immediate career goals post equivalency. In terms of difficulty to get in to a university the answer is yes, the spots in these universities are highly competitive and require you to be a strong applicant. Having said however, a lot of our Prep Doctors candidates chose the university route every year. We have designed courses for university bench tests and have a very high acceptance rate for the doctors that go through our training courses.
