My first boss used to tell me "you know if you didnt smoke you could have a Ferrari with the money you would save" i asked him if he smoked and he said no. So i said okay then where's your Ferrari? He gave me a puzzled look and walked off after three seconds of silence. He had no rebuttal. I was 18 and it was my first job ever. I worked all the way uo from sweeping floors to being a lead fabricator working on million dollar jobs snd running a night crew, this all happened within the four years of working there. I regret leaving when i did but changes within the company and the ridiculous low pay I was receiving forced me to leave. The last straw was when my boss told me he was to scared to ask the owner about giving me a raise because someone had just totaled the new work truck he had just bought. I was the second highest skilled fabricator there and making $12 less than the top guy. Total bs.

its true what shes saying invest in the S&P 500. i have over $100,000 in my roth IRA. I could be a millionaire at this rate when I’m old. Sadly most young people will ignore this advice and end up old and poor

One twin puts aside $3,000 every year into his tax free savings account starting at age 22, and stops at 32 - never adding another penny to the account. His sister starts saving $3,000 annually at age 32, and continues until 62. Another thing is look into establishing a ROTH account and contributing the maximum amount each year.

My son wanted to weld and work in the oil & gas fields, doing mobile welding and repair work. The best thing I did as a parent was save in 529 plans for both my kids. He went to welding school 10 months later, and he graduated debt free. The thing I did next was attempt to explain an employer sponsored / match 401 plan, he didn't understand..........I told him to give me $10 I attempted to explain a employer match 401 plan again, he still didn't understand. I asked him if he wanted his $10 back or the $20 bill I was holding up.........eight years later, he fully takes advantage of his employer 401 match program.

Soooo many mechanics need to hear this and truly listen! You might just be the one that can “hammer” it into their heads! 😂 Time=Money, even more so when we use the magic of compounding interest and other maths!! I like this video!

I watch Jay Leno. He told a famous Basketball Player, eat 2 Cheese Burgers, and a Coke at McDonalds, and put the rest of your day's pay in the bank 80% of every dollar, AND FORGET IT'S THERE. The B Baller laughed at him, untill they went in his garage, The B baller saw an original McLaren, and sat in it. "How much is something like this? He asked Jay. While laughing with his friends. $20 Million Jay responded. You paid $20 Million for this car!??! The Baller ask. "No, I paid $750,000 when they were new, but they only made 63 of the 1,000 they wanted to build, so now they're worth $20 Million." The B Baller asked Jay again. "What did you eat every day, and for how long? Jay pointed to a desk. There my 2 Burgers, and a Coke. The Baller was stunned! lol! Jay saved his first million by 41 years. He's currently worth $5.2 Billion, and still works 3 nights a week, plus his weekly KZbin channel.

Saving is not a new concept. Nice to point it out, though, Val. My house, all cars and motorcycles (8), and tools are all paid off. I only buy anything that I can pay for in totallity for everything. Debt is nobody's friend. It makes you a slave to your current condition. I like more freedom than that.
