There was a young man during the time of the Prophet Muhammad who converted to Islam, and when his mother found out about this, she became angry and sad and promised herself not to eat until she died of hunger.

A verse was revealed about this young man in the Qur’an ) وَإِن جَاهَدَاكَ عَلَىٰ أَن تُشْرِكَ بِي مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ بِهِ عِلْمٌ فَلَا تُطِعْهُمَا ۖ وَصَاحِبْهُمَا فِي الدُّنْيَا مَعْرُوفًا ۖ وَاتَّبِعْ سَبِيلَ مَنْ أَنَابَ إِلَيَّ ۚ ثُمَّ إِلَيَّ مَرْجِعُكُمْ فَأُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ (The meaning of that verse is that you should obey your parents in everything except in worshiping God. This is the only disobedience that you can do in Islam.

Furthermore, this applies as a consequence for her crime of obstructing and waging war against the religion of Allah. Despite that, she has the right to seek emancipation (through "mukatabah") by paying a small amount of money! And this applies even to a war enemy, imagine! Of course, you haven't heard this from those who spread lies to you. But if you genuinely seek truth with fairness, come, and ask Allah to guide you to the truth. ما هذا الحمق ؟! ، يبدو أنك جاهل تماما بالإسلام العظيم ! ، وهل تعرف معنى ملك اليمين ، أولا كتأصسل للمسألة الإسلام العظيم هو دين الإحسان والرحمة ، قال الله ( إن الله يأمر بالعدل والإحسان ) ، وقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ( ارحموا من في الأرض يرحمكم من في السماء ) ، ونحن غايتنا تبيين الحق للناس بإذن ربنا سبحانه الذي أنزل هذه الشريعة الغراء العزيمة العادلة السوية المستقيمة ، وأما ملك اليمين ، فأصلا هذه حرب !! ، ففي الحرب الأقوام يفعلون ذلك ، فهل لا تغيبه على نفسك ثم تعيبه علينا ، ما هذا ؟!!! ولكن شتان الفارق بيننا وبينكم ! ، عندنا إذا اغتصب بغير حق المسلم هذه التي أسرت فيُقام عليه الحد وهو العقوبة !! ، تخيل !! ، وعندنا أيضا هذا عقوبة لها لأنها ارتكبت جريمة منع دين الله ومحاربته ، ورغم ذلك فلها حق المكاتبة إن شاءت عدم ذلك فلها أن تكاتب بأن تدفع مبلغا زهيدا من المال !! ، وهذا وهي عدوة حرب تخيل !!! ، طبعا لم تسمع هذا من من يروجون الخرافات لك ، لكن إن كنت تريد الحق بإنصاف ، فتعال ، وادع الله تعالى أن يهديك إلى الحق .

They are still considered as sins but Allah forgives you as long as you try to leave them. There's no sin that can get you out of Islam except the major one, shirk, which means you worship another God with Allah.

I have never been religious even though i have been Christened and i attended a Catholic school as a child. But as an adult i don't really see myself as Christian or catholic etc I don't attend Churches for services etc. That said i am a 100% believer in a creator. I have always had my own relationship with god and live how i think he would like me to live . Be Truthful, Be Kind, Be loving and help others. And i do all this when ever i can. I don't drink, i don't smoke , and i don't do drugs. I am curious about Islam though i think i have the right set of morals to become a Muslim. But i have questions like i play and enjoy guitar. Is that something i would have to Give up? is it considered Haram?

Hi there, I know it's a bit of a late response, but if you believe that Allah is the one true Creator and that Muhammad (PBUH) is the messenger of Allah (SWT), then I would say take the shahadah. Things such as playing music, drinking alcohol or any other haram, you can work on removing it from your life. We are all sinners and repent and try to better ourselves, but the greatest sin is to believe that Islam is the truth and not testify thereto. May Allah make it easy for you, and Allah knows best. 🙏

Have you gotten help on this yet? I might be able to offer some advice if you want to talk in more detail. First and foremost, you DO NOT need to know Arabic to be a Muslim, in fact, less than 15% of Muslims are Arab. There are some short passages from the Quran that you should learn for prayer and a few short phrases, but you can read them from an English transliteration while you are still learning. If none of your family is Muslim, then your reward for being the first will be even greater than that of many others. It might be difficult for some parents to except, and I can't imagine how tough it will be for you if you decide to go through with it, but remember to treat your parents with respect regardless of how they react to your decision. If there is a serious risk that you could be harmed if you reveal your Islam, then it is also permissible to keep it a secret. There is a basis for this claim in the Quran in the 40th's chapters 28th verse (Surat Ghafir) where a man from the relatives of the Pharoah who believed in the message of Moses (i.e. Islam) hid his belief to protect himself, but Allah still calls him a believer. LASTLY! If you and your sister have sinned a lot then Islam is perfect for you, we as Muslims believe that when you accept Islam, you become like a newborn baby, as all of your sins are erased, no matter how bad they are. Say, ˹O Prophet, that Allah says,˺ “O My servants who have exceeded the limits against their souls! Do not lose hope in Allah’s mercy, for Allah certainly forgives all sins.1 He is indeed the All-Forgiving, Most Merciful. [39:53] Quran

How to accept Islam? You have to believe that there is only one God, Allah, who created the entire universe, and that Muhammad (peace be upon him) is his final messenger on earth. If you say no god but allah and Muhammad(pboh) is his final messenger with total sincerity, you have become a Muslim. It really is as simple as that And if you can’t bcz your family members Then Be Muslim in secret and don’t tell any one
