You can get commissioned in less than two days if you submit your Application to the Secretary of State electronically. In fact, I believe Illinois now requires electronic Application submission in most circumstances. Also, if taking exam to become a Notary, it is lengthy. The course was only a few hours of video, but when taking notes and actually studying while learning, it can take a couple days or so. Go slower and take good notes - it's worth it in the end!

I just took the test to renew. Give yourself at least 4.5 hours to complete the lessons and the test.
