Phd is doctorate level degree and Mphil CP is PG level degree. To be a RCI registered CP MPhil /psy.d is only option. Phd doesn't help one to get RCI license. Phd is more research based degree Mphil focuses more on practical knowledge (working in real clinical setting)

There's also a diploma in clinical psychology (1 year program) and license is given by RCI. Only catch here is you'll not be able to become a professor. You'll have to do PhD if you want to teach.
