Something I recently have been doing to BOOST MY CREATIVITY is try out something new every Sunday. For example, learn a new topic, visit a place i've never been before, try a workout I've never done before, etc. Getting out of our routine once in a while is very useful for boosting our creativity.

I absolutely love the interviews, but I can say that personally these Conversations With Tom are more my style. I love to hear the way that Tom thinks, which is why the AMA’s and ITU are my favorites. Impact Theory, Health Theory, and Relationship Theory are so awesome and I watch them all, but the most breakthroughs for me come from when Tom articulates his thoughts into steps and action items that I can take and run with in my own life.

when im hangin out with my peers mostly 98% of them are on their phone commenting on fb or insta. i have a book or a crochet project which always generates a real convo. i am astounded at how many people have no hobby except checking their social status. grown people sittin around havinbno idea what to say to each other, havin nothin real to talk about

I am 67 so you can imagine how much the world has changed since I was a teenager. It is sad how the art of conversation has declined. When I was thirteen for example we would get out of school and spontaneously just form a touch football game fo a few hours . We would then go home and eat dinner. After dinner I would take a bus and go to the library for a few hours if I needed to so I could check out books to do a paper or just do homework with friends. On the weekends we would all go to a local "teen club" where we all danced, talked, or played pool. We had so much fun. I am so glad both myself and my kids did not grow up fixated on social media . My kids as they got cell phones and we got a computer did have My Space . Mostly though it was for music and to follow skateboard stars! I would encourage you to enlarge your interests and look for other kids who may have broken away from an addiction to FB and twitter.

I love Impact Theory as you're providing a format for us to connect with a whole range of successful and intelligent individuals, and you direct the conversation in such a way that allows the guest to flesh out key points thus giving us some amazing tools and views. Chase is absolutely correct, “it feels good to be aware”. awareness is the most energizing state someone can be in. Flow, it’s almost like feeling high or hyper lucid but it’s also so natural. Because we spend most of our time with thoughts and other things competing for our mental bandwidth, that when nothing is pulling from our awareness; the connection is optimized. Like the current of electricity is flowing at capacity and even surging, and this def has a feeling that goes with it and that feeling, indescribable and ineffable and of course one of the best feelings to experience.

I can understand it with the calling, sometimes I have choices. My head tells me, do the "right" stuff (the things I learned and belive) my heart tells me also do the right stuff (the things that excite me and I apperently really wanna do). Also the difference is if I follow my heart I don't have a bad feeling afterwards or at least until my head quiets down. And then I think: nice, good compass you didn't disappoint me! So now I'm perfecting my compass and train it, making it a quantum compass. Let's see how far that goes.

I think one of the challenges when discussing any creative act is that there is a difference between being good at the craft and actually creating something creative/artistic. Chase saying that he doesnt believe that anyone can be world-class is him saying that he doesn't think everyone can achieve top-level creativity but everyone can benefit from having a craft/discipline. At least that's my take away from this. Really love these longer discussions :D

Had to throw this in here - regarding your " I don't know if I could ever become a great singer" - not that you'd want to, BUT My cousin was the WORST singer when we were young. Totally tone deaf, but she went to music school and came out singing AMAZINGLY well and then developed her own style and actually went on a tour that she booked and had some success. Anyway, my point is I NEVER thought she'd ever be able to sing, but she's amazing and a beautiful singer. :)

Wow was only introduced to Chase via an interview on Lewis’s channel a couple of days ago then here he is again - excellent. Straight after watching that interview yesterday morning I built a new backing track for my record label, wrote a song for an artist I’m working with and designed the template cover for my first book (which will take a couple of years to write). That’s what a focus on creativity can do to a person!!! I love it when guests show up on different channels at the same time because it helps to marinate and extend the ideas put forward in each interview. don't want to marinate in the negativity and have to make a real effort to avoid it on social media. It is very easy to get sucked into the bs. Sometimes it feels good to slam idiots tho and that in itself is an adrenaline rush because you feel like you called them out on their stupidity but then you feel like you wasted your time....always. Love your video topics keep up the good work. Most people are striving for better. As an artist i can tell you that in my case, in order for creativity to flourish, I have to be quite zen in my life in most areas in order to quiet that part of my mind that isn't-- which in turn will allow the creativity to come out to play. Some artists need chaos and pain so it would be the opposite for them. In any case, you are correct that it is a muscle and has memory and the more you paint the more you paint but if you stop for a while, it is like riding a bike. It all comes back to you...eventually. And Tom you are an empath for sure just so ya know. It takes one to know one :)

The interaction and subject was of massive help in clarifying my thought process and actionability open to me 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌 I realised , I would produce works furiously ( Focusing on the number of works completed ) and then slow my out put to consolidate improvements and skills into a small number of polished works . Then start up the maximum number of works possible with the newly acquired, honed improved skills . So see soaring between , out put numbers and quality’s pieces , so always improving 👍👍👍👍🤜🤛Until now I’ve never realised , that this was my process , and would get frustrated when producing the numbers of mediocre work and then frustrated with spending to much time devoted to one piece. 18:08 As far as I see it, creativity is the expression of love and love is the source of creativity. Love is a passion, a point of inspiration that creates movement. There is not a single thing in this world that anyone truly loves without the desire to express it. When we create, we express our desires and our passions in a medium that resonates best with our individual selves. Doing this creates a bond and appreciation for our art, and that bond increases our love for it and increases our creativity from it. Find something/someone that you love, and you'll never go a day without creativity or inspiration.

Hey Tom! Great video! I like this format. I totally disagree with the concept about we can't be good at something we don't love. I'm a creator, but I choose to enter the comic book industry as an artist because of the lower barrier in comparison to a writer position. Yeah, I'm paid for that and can make a living solely as an artist, but I hate drawing XD Another interesting part was, "ignoring this creativity you're giving up on yourself".Isn't it the other way around? Giving up on things and letting it go means kill the ego and have more progress? The last thing. Originality? Avoid it. People hate it (if you work in the entertainment industry). People like what is familiar. Trust me, I tried a lot. Now I'm struggling to go back to do the same thing everyone is doing, but giving "new clothes" for the crap. Yay...

If your reverse this process you could potentially help someone find that “thing” by asking “what skills do you want to learn to eventually become a teacher of it to the world” because that’s what everyone has done throughout history and is a pattern i cannot deny

Got to your channel because I'm a crypto guy and am a big fan of Raul Paul. Kept listening to your other crypto interviews... Then some other cool stuff... Then I've just listened to this and realised the whisper was there all along. It's fucking obvious now I think if it. It's the bit where the compass and the path are two different directions but it doesn't mean the path is won't bit that for me. I know what I need to do. Thanks guys. We get so busy in our daily life that we forget to nurture our creative side. There should be a gym for exercising the creativity muscle.

"at the end of the day you need to root your shit in biology." I agree with this 100%. I am a biologist, and my reason for pursuing this academic path was largely rooted in the desire to understand myself, as well as others. I think it's naive to think that we can just go against our biology on a whim. Yes we can overcome biological drives with work and effort when needed, but generally, your life is easier if you keep biological tendencies in mind.
