One thing I've learned as a Quality Manager is to never focus on who to blame. Once you start trying to find out who messed up, people quit talking, then you do not learn anything. The best thing I ever got from Stephen Covey was in an audiobook he had years ago about professional Sells he said that if you want to change your life change the way you see the world. The more I've thought about it over the years the more true it is.

Very good point. You want to hold people accountable for their actions but if your looking to hang someone for a mistake then people are gonna clam up or be gunshy about making decisions for fear of getting in trouble.

It's important to get into good habits early in life, and to avoid bad habits, but it's never too late to get your life in gear. I'm lucky that a good work-ethic was something I was brought up observing. Not only is it important for everyone to have good personal & work ethics for their own personal & professional lives, but to also set an example for friends & family. YOU are the hero you have been waiting for. Good luck, everybody!

I agree 1000%, and I too, was fortunate to have been raised with a strong work ethic, structure, and the concept of the plan of the day. Also, some people might thing I’m an old guy but I’m in my late 30s and I was fortunate to be surrounded by smart and common sense people throughout my life.

I was born and raised and I continue to still live here in the great state of Wisconsin. I was a farmers kid I grew up on a farm from the time I was born 1997 til I was about 9. All I know is hard work and dedication to my craft and never to back talk what I see in young kids now is terrible some parents dont even care anymore and it shows. Its sad I feel for the new generation.

🌱 i fucking LOVE "the Italian" in this conversation. Powerful energy, and when channeled properly and through the lenses of love, empathy, compassion and peace...it's POTENT. In closing, i think it's the balancing of all 7, is where it's at. In that, one could grow as they age exponentially.

Michael thank you very much for what you said, about you have to know the end, I spent 16 years trying to write a book, there was so much of it, I worked on it for a few years in England and then as you say in America I whent on the lamb for ten years, I stayed in Paris, a good friend of mine maneged to get into my apartment in London gather up my writing and bought it out to Paris for me, so I continued to write, all along I knew there would come a time when I'd have to rewrite all of it again eventually I reached a point where by the writing felt like a rope around my neck, I wasn't even half way through the book plus I had know idea exactly how it was going to end, eventually I thought fuck it I'll do something different and artistic, I'm going to throw all this writing, 16 years worth of it, into a trash can on the streets of Paris, the next day that's exactly what I did

Being arrogant only offends you when the guy doing it is actually better than oneself. I am a solidly middle class guy, so what I am about to say should only piss half of you off. I never read this book. But six out of the seven of of these things are deeply imbedded in me (after High School football and the military are done, you will never get as much out of a team again as you get out of yourself alone. I am sorry, but this is true). I did not get them from a book, I figured them out by means of starting with absolutely nothing and having to realize what was necessary. Regardless, these are my principals people and I never...EVER...fail. Even the landing spot in the upper middle class was a success, because I made a decision to NEVER compromise myself, and I am of an extremely small club of people who made it to their 50s who can tell the guy in the middle that he never did. The better half of the middle class is where you land when that is your priority because you HAVE TO make a decision to compromise yourself to get to the very next level from where I am. Although I have never read this book, the author came to the same conclusions that I did. I did not write a book, so if you are just starting out in life...read his. This author has it right. Allow me to add an 8th one to complete his work, though: You have nothing to do with how much intelligence you were given. You have nothing to do with how much natural talent you were given. There will always be people who can outsmart you, out lift/fight/sing/f__k...etc, you. But you have absolute control over the idea that no one can out WORK you. You will take full advantage the gifts you have been given, and overcome the deficiencies that you have...if you vow to NEVER let anyone out WORK you. This is the most important one and the great news is...its the one that YOU control!

Do you guys remember seeing Quentin Tarantino's Movies the first one you happen to see, he blew our minds because his ending was either in the begining or in the middle and so on, lol it was amazing, now we are use to his style, but when you say needing to know the start and ending of the movie script in your head we should donate Quentin's brain to science lol... he was on a whole other level in his mind he is a genius really....

Hey! Mike and Chazz... How about "Who Moved My Cheese" it describe an amazing way to deal with change in your work and life, a quick read, but a powerful lil' book by Spencer Johnson, Ph.D. one of those books my former Director had us read, also went through a class covering the 7 habits along with many others...
