In this video we show how to heat up and reverse bend a Mauser Military bolt with the downward sweep already in it, instead of the straight handled bolts like in our previous videos.

The KZbin algorithm directed me to this video and I'm glad it did. I own several Mauser rifles with forged handles and I've never seen it done. Thank you for sharing this.

Hello from Utah! You reminded me that I have a ‘93 Mauser in the shop for a bolt bending/forging. I haven’t done it in years and will be reviewing this video when I do it. Thanks for sharing. 🦬👌👍

Great! I think alot of people have been looking at their old Mauser projects after watching these video's, I have gotten a good amount of requests to have this work down from our KZbin community.

Thanks for watching...Just to Clarify, I'm Don Turnbull, my business is "Turnbull Custom Guns" in Buxton Maine. Doug Turnbull, is the founder of "Turnbull Restoration" out of New York. We are not affiliated with them. But yes, I agree they do great work.

Why do you need a smith for your build?

Sent him a mauser bolt,3 months later I had to have him send it back unfinished. Don't waste your time with him

Again, I apologize. and yes, you are correct. I did not complete your bolt within the time frame I told you I could. I did voluntarily reimburse you for any costs you would have had by sending the bolt to me. What I did not Explain was the major reason for it not being completed is Your bolt was a Model 96, unlike the one in this video which is a Model 98. I was hoping my 98 bolt bending blocks could be used for your 96 bolt, but it couldn't. My plan was to make a new set of bending blocks for a 96 bolt, but I did not get it done in time. Again, I'm sorry I was not able to complete the work for you within the time promised but the bolt was returned to you the same day you requested it to be, and I did refund you all fees you would have incurred to ship the bolt to me. I hope you are able to get it done quickly with one of your local smiths.
