There was a choir and light shining down at the moment it changed from flat to firearm. I saw it.

Many non-believers who have no faith, will try and give a scientific explanation. And claim they've "debunked" what the faithful have said to have seen. But those of us who have experienced it first hand know the truth... 🙏

Thank you for posting the video and can you include where the bending jig and any other specialized tools needed can be found. It would be very helpful. Again thanks fir the post.

A few friends pitched in together to buy the jig. It was just under $300 on Gunbroker. You will also need a mandrel to press through the bent receiver a few times to square up the receiver after it's bent. That was another $300 or so from Holescreek. You can find him on KZbin or on WeaponsGuild dot com. These prices are from 5 years ago sp you might be spending more than that now. Be sure to go there and search for MP5 build and read EVERYTHING. Lots of info. These guns cost a lot but there's nothing like being able to build your own weapons. Whether it's an AR15, AK47, knives, MP5.... They're all awesome. :)

Awesome, do you have a video of the final product?
@TravisFisher3 жыл бұрын
I don't. We bent a handful of MP5 receivers but never bought kits for them. We did use the same jig to build some CETME (HK G4) rifles. I have two of those hanging around. 1 finished & 1 needs work. My friends and I have talked about building a few more but parts are scarce right now. Someday!

After I watched your video again yesterday, figured I give it a try. I bought a flat and jig years ago and they've just been sitting around. Not sure the exact models of either, the flat was H&K Parts for a G3, jig came from Ebay, looks very similar to yours. Couple quick questions, if you don't mind. Is there cut in your jig to clear the brass deflector? Mine was deformed a bit. The edges didn't quite match at the mag well, I think because the deflector side got a little more push than the other side. Do you use any grease on the upper part of the flat? What's the right way to remove everything once it's bent? I popped out the locating pins then whacked the center bar on the press plates a few times and it came out. Is there a better way? thanks.

I don't remember if we used grease but it sure can't hurt, so I would do it. Watching the video again I thought maybe it would be smart to tack weld the receiver together inside the jig to get the best fold. I'd have to go back and check if the jig would still slide out but I think it would be fine. If the edges don't match up that's going to give you problems. Make sure the rails inside the receiver are straight with each other. If not you might want to put that back into the press and see if you can rebend it a bit to get things to line up. I do know from experience that things start to get worse as you continue your build if you don't have the right dimensions on your receiver.

Hey can you give me an exact list on what you used to bend the MP5? I am basically starting out on this so I would really appreciate it.
@TravisFisher4 жыл бұрын
You need a bending jig ($300, shown in this video) Also you need a mandrel ($300 from Holescreek if he still makes them). Prices are probably higher since this was 7 years ago. You need the MP5 flat and some small spacers for the back of the receiver where the stock pins go through. That's about it! Also you need some good welding skills. I used a MIG but I'd love to do it with a TIG next time.

Do you have a part 2 vedio to this build.
@TravisFisher6 жыл бұрын
I don't. After this you would weld it together and then run a shaping mandrel through it. The side rails are really rounded on the receivers that I got. Maybe newer ones are better but these had to be squared out quite a bit before the bolt carrier would slide through.

Yes but I haven't done much gun building. I shut down the build parties to go back to school and haven't done much since.

I don't get it, is this the HK parts jig? It has a side A and a side B. First you start and bend half way with the A side then the B side finishes it? Isn't it incorrect to do it in one press?

How to bend an MP5 flat
@TravisFisher11 жыл бұрын
There are plenty of different ways to bend an HK flat. This jig sells for about $300 on Gunbroker. I haven't heard of a 2 stage jig but I'm sure that would work fine too. The one thing about this jig is that you do have to press a mandrel through the receiver a few times to finish shaping the receiver. Maybe the 2 stage jig does a better job with that....
@codeninja18324 жыл бұрын
This is beyond my abilities. What do you think about going with an AR style "MP5" 80% lower? It's not exactly the same but what would be some pros/cons of going with the ar style vs the traditional receiver flat? From this site: ghostguns.com/product-category/rifles/pcc/mp5/
@TravisFisher4 жыл бұрын
Wow they labelled that 9mm AR lower an MP5 lower. That's silly! :) But 9mm ARs are AWESOME! I would totally recommend building one. It doesn't require many tools and if you need help building it, you can always find someone local that's done one. Once they're back in stock, I'd say go for it! They take Glock mags too so it would be awesome to have that plus a G17 that can share mags.
@codeninja18324 жыл бұрын
@@TravisFisher Cool. Yea I'll probably try building one after my AR-15 300 BLK build I'm doing now so I'll have some experience with milling the lower. Since the MP5 is a bit out of my league, this seems like the next best thing.

A hammer is normally used. Your press ruins the gun name it will have less power. You do what you have to but other people are better buying from someone who can do it correctly
@thorkill82467 жыл бұрын
You can never straighten it. The warpage and metal fatigue have ruined the part.When the hammer strikes the die the flat folds immediately. Your lack of power is shown attwmpting to make something beyond your ability. This os not how it done. Your bringing down advanced manufacturing to your crude garage ability.

Funny... The 308 flat that I bent 5+ years ago is still going strong. When will my lack of power catch up to that receiver?

Your an asshole. There are other ways to do things then how YOU say to do them. From what I saw his way of bending that flat worked cause the corners lined up on the mag well.
