ALL you gotta do is fill up a large pan, bring to boil, add tomatoes for 2 mins.. Then turn heat off & wait till it stops boiling then add ice too cool. The skin almost comes off itself

Thanks! My only comment is knowing what type of tomatoes to do this with. Unfortunately one of my tomatoes was a bit harder than the others, and the peel didn't come away all that easily.

My favorite tomatoes are Better Boy & Roma.

You're forgetting to cut a small X on the bottom of the tomatoe, makes peeling them twice as easy

I've never had any difficulties with this method, but there's always room for improvement. Thanks for the tip!

Blanched my Romas about 4 minutes after returning to a boil. Peels came right off in the icy water.

so frustrated. i used a dozen romas, followed the instructions and half the toms wouldnt peel
@PhilCrockett5 жыл бұрын
Not sure what the problem is about. The times that I've had issues, were due to 1) tomato wasn't quite ripe 2) the water wasn't boiling when I dunked the cold tomatoes in 3) I didn't have them in the water long enough. Hope this helps you solve the issue.

I figured it out. the toms were not ripe. they were red outside but half of them were very hard inside
@PhilCrockett5 жыл бұрын
That would definitely make them hard to peel for sure!
