U guys should really try this yourself. I just recently started doing my own color to platinum and it’s still an adventure but always turns out very well. I use a box color kit bcuz I’m still nervous about mixing powder and developer (even tho I’m doing it with the box kit-there’s instructions that r THOROUGH and it makes me feel confident) which is weird. My next color I will only use powder and developer bcuz it makes sense now. Today I am toning for the first time. I’ve seen a ton of videos like this but this is the absolute best and it made it all make a lot of sense to me. U guys should try it. It’s easier than u think I promise.

This is the 3rd time I’ve tried her and the last!!!! She doesn’t listen to what I say! I am the CLIENT. She does what she wants every-time! I’m done! This is perfect and exactly what I want. I’ll do it myself. Great job!!! All you hair stylists out there... make sure you understand what your client is asking to be done! Please!!!!

I have dark brown roots and use 20 vol developer and it gets light light yellow light enough to tone to platinum . Try 20 before going for 30 or 40 vol
@taompons4 жыл бұрын
but keep in mind, it also depends how porous your hair is, the texture of it, etc. i have a friend who has dark brown hair and she can easily get a nice blonde with 20 vol because her hair texture is thin and her hair is porous. my hair is the same dark brown as hers but i have much more coarser, thicker hair due to my.. asian genes.. so it takes a while to take things in. a 20 vol for you might be great but honestly if i wanted the same results, i might have to go for like 35 to 40.

I have split hair dark on one side so the roots were a little more difficult because I started from the bottom and couldn't lay the bleach over the dark side. But I absolutely Love this color toner. I've been doing highlights and blonde for many years. This is now my favorite toner color. I left it on for a half hour which it says on the bottle. Anyway I love it!!!!💕

I used to do my own hair all the time with the same recommended products. I just paid so much a few weeks ago for my roots and the stylist didn’t even do nearly as well as I can do myself. I think it’s not even about being cheap but as the saying goes, “if you want something done right, you have to do it yourself”. Tomorrow, I’m taking over these roots that were essentially untouched by the “professional”. I already re-styled my cute long bangs so tomorrow... the roots!! Anyways, just because you DIY your hair... doesn’t mean anything. Sometimes you just have to tackle it yourself.

I naturally have dark brown hair and I always use extra strength bleach powder and 10 vol developer. Works like a charm to get the white blonde that I love! Also it damages my hair way less than when I used regular strength bleach and 30 or 40 vol like I used to do to get the color I have now. Just a tip for anyone that wants really white blonde hair! :) also use Wells T18 but any white blonde knows that that's the way to go.

Is your hair fine, medium or coarse? Mine is fine and I am about to bleach for the second time. 1st time it kept too much gold so do I cover roots to end this time? I have natural light to medium brown with gray and I bought Loreal Quick Blue and I have both 10 & 20 developer. Thanks

I have fine hair too the only thing is I naturally have very dark ashy hair so I turn yellow kinda but not orange. So if you get orange then I would say 20 vol but if ur hair is a lighter brown and fine you should be good with 10 as long as you tone after! Hope that helps!

Helpful video, thanks! Do you have to keep toning? For some reason, toner only lasts a few weeks on my hair. Even after the first wash, I will notice a bit of brassiness. I hate paying so much for professional color, but I've finally reached the point where I can't take the weird red/yellows coming through. Even ash blonde dyes end up going brassy on me. I like the way the T10 toner turned out for you.
@somegirljesskent8 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yes, the T10 is great - it's less intense than the T18, and a little more silver-ish based as opposed to straight up purple. And I am the same way as you...after a few washes it won't be as cool toned. And after 4-6 weeks, I'm right back to the warm blonde I started with. A hairdresser told me once that if you apply toner to dry (or almost dry hair) then the result will be more intense and last longer.
@Poenut8 жыл бұрын
Try washing your hair less often and, when you DO, use a blonde/silver shampoo such as Shimmerlights (I think that's the name of what I use. You get it at Sally's). Leave it on your hair throughout your shower and rinse at the end.

Excellent tut. I bleach/dye my own hair at home too. Wella toner has been a lifesaver. Silver shampoo is great for banishing brassiness in between bleaches/dyes, FYI. I use Shimmerlights shampoo and conditioner (or Silverlights...I forget)
@bellaknight13198 жыл бұрын
Never use shimmerlights! Although it does remove brassiness, but it also takes the brightness of your color, i recommend using Naissant purple shampoos, they remove brassiness without taking the brightness of your color. I have the red/gold corrector drops to add to the bleach.. I'm wondering because the drops are for keeping those brassy & red orange tones out if you could mix some red gold corrector drops with shampoo or conditioner & that would work as a toner..
