In your experience what are the symptoms of having air in the cooling system of this engine? My 2004 camry has this engine and when under standard operating conditions the temperature gage will occasionally drop to halfway between middle and cold. It will stay there for a while then return to normal. I'm wondering if this is temperature sensor or air in the system. What do you think?

You might have a bad thermostat or temperature sensor. To rule out air in the system try bleeding it. So when bleeding, if you have heat coming out or your vents and there’s no more bubbles coming out from the cooling system, then there’s no more air in the system.

03 camry I4 upper hose is hot lower is cool. Is this normal?

that means your thermostat didn't open because the car is not up to operating temp.

@@Baebon6259 it gets to operating temp and maintains and heat blows boiling hot? Is it possible thats just by design and the rad is cooling it effectively?

Mine starts with big bubbles. Then it starts boiling out of the funnel vilontly. What does that mean?
@acetechauto7Ай бұрын
That means the coolant is getting too hot if it’s boiling. It can happen because there’s too much air in the system. Sometimes it helps to turn the car off let it sit for 5 minutes then try it again. Also make sure your radiator fans work. Worst case scenario you might have a bad head gasket which would keep causing bubbles. Good luck!

If it's just straight water,it may just be boiling. Pure water boils at 212,engines regularly can surpass that temperature. If it's doing it with the proper coolant mix,could be head gasket,cracked head or block,bad water pump,or best case...a bad radiator cap that isn't venting.

Where is the bleeder valve located
@acetechauto7Ай бұрын
These don’t have a bleeder valve. It only bleeds through the radiator neck
